“I moved here from Colorado 7 years ago, and had been desperate to find good Mexican food. Every single place I tried sent me into despair, as I was used to there being incredible hole in the wall, authentic places on every corner back home. I was particularly homesick one night, and decided to try once more to find quality Mexican food. A girl need a taco dangit! I found this place on door dash, and ordered an assortment of things for my mom, the kids, and I. Burritos, tacos, assorted meats, and of course jalapenos, I went overboard. I was craving a solid lingua, as if it's cooked right, it's the most incredible taco you'll ever find. The smell emanating from the bag must have driven the driver crazy, and I'm hoping he went back to obtain their own order of tacos. That level of torture is inhumane. While guilty of probably breaking the Geneva convention, Taqueria El Asador provided generous portions of each ingredient, and made me happy I ordered the extra tortilla per taco. It's like having a bonus today once you're finished with the original!First off.... The lingua.... Oh my lord! So I'm a widow, a very young widow. There's certain things you miss as a widow. The cure... Eating a lingua supreme taco with the salsas and a jalapeno. The flavor, texture, experience, of eating this particular taco was a delight for the senses. It sent a shiver of delight through me, eyes rolled back in my head, and I'm not responsible for the sound of approval that escaped my mouth. No one heard it though, as they were currently immersed in their own culinary delights. My mom is a huge fan of pintos and also of pork within her Mexican dishes. She was pleased by both and Said they were the best she's ever had. Both children finished their burritos, which is a feat as they're at a stage in development where everything is gross unless it comes from a box or a can, and creative culinary experiences go over their heads. The steak was tender and delicious, and had my kids hunting around through their fallen morsels that escaped the burritos for more.So tldr of this experience: lingua was incredible, will be ordering stupid amounts of this again. Pork, beans, and steak, all Delicious too. Salsas, rice, and other "others" complimented the meats beautifully. I will be coming back over and over.Thank you for being a home away from home!“
“I work for G&G and I don't have time to wait all day sitting in the restaurant trying to get something to eat. When I come down here I have my food in less than 5 minutes, And the food is good. Definitely recommend coming by to try the food.“
“Wow, wow, wow, amazing food! I had no idea when I pulled up what I was in for. This little gem is a must. The food was amazing, I had the Berria tacos plate. Salsa was great, and the staff was just so nice and accommodating. Do yourself a favor and stop in.“
“so good! the food was really yummy and our waiter was really nice (I believe he doesn’t work there often and was just there to help his girlfriend out but I cannot remember his name) my boyfriend and I were not planning on going but we dropped my mom off for an appointment near by and needed to kill some time so we decided to stop and grab a bite. before we even were headed to walk in (we could have just been on the sidewalk with no intent on going in) the staff greeted us and started to make small talk and were already very friendly. we got in and my boyfriend got two chicken tacos, we shared the chips and queso, and I got the street corn. we both just had water (they have alcohol and jarritos) and it was around $20. My street corn came in a cup and was a massive portion. I can throw back some food and couldn’t finish. It was spicy and warm and comforting. My boyfriend really liked his as well. We’ll probably get the chorizo queso next time instead because we both like ours a lil hotter but it was still great and a really large portion! The entire staff was really friendly! We will def be back. We literally could not stop talking about how great our service was for like three hours!“
“This place looks like a hole in the wall restaurant that you'd probably drive by 100 times and not stop in. I was craving birria tacos and ended up here. I will tell you this is the best damn birria I've ever had & I live in Texas where the Mexican food is significantly better(argue with ya mama). Service was spectacular, very patient with my mom who's stupidly indecisive.“
“Had two different tacos there: campechano, and el pastor. AMAZINGG! We went there because El Asador is closed on Sunday's. Definitely put this one on your list. Our friend by mistake went to their other location on N. Palafox, and had almost the same thing as I did, and they attested that the tacos were really good. Or is they like to say: "They slapped hard!"Have been to small towns in Mexico and gotten tacos, these are damn close. Super simple is what I look for in street tacos: cilantro, onions, meat. Ofc corn tortillas. Will return!“
“We tried their vegan puffy tacos and vegan enchiladas for February's vegan chef challenge and they were AMAZING. I just wish this place was open for dinner.Vegetarian options: They said they can always make vegan puffy tacos, which are super delicious, although probably not terribly healthy, lol.“
“I got the shredded beef tacos with 2 separate sauces. The tacos were excellent, hot, fresh, with an excellent flavor. The 2 sauces complimented them very well and the price was just the cherry on top. Ill be here a couple times a week at least.“
“WOW, Vallarta has been updating the inside of the restaurant. Most of the wait staff is new, younger men and women, the inside is brighter, New WHITE leather seats even a lot of the Dusty Sombrero are replaced with newer decorations. And they were busy. MY Friend took me there as a late Birthday dinner. And the food was Fantastic. I ordered "40 the Chimmichanga shredded beef cooked HARD. No lettuce, no red sauce on top. I even asked if they could cook the meat without onions. I told him if not I would just pick them out2. I didn't find a single piece of onion in it . SUPER FANTASTIC . They DID offer extra beans and Rice because I didn't get any veggies. And it was perfect. Perfect portion, Perfectly cooked NICE and crunchy like I LOVE them. They certainly have gotten even Better than they were Before. I LOVE them even more. ?“
“I will never visit Pensacola again without making sure we visit and eat at Taco Mex! It was absolutely delicious - the most authentic food I've ever eaten. Beautiful atmosphere and we enjoyed shopping at the market. our waitress was so friendly❤️“
“Stopped by tonight for the first time and it was fantastic! I had 3 asada tacos, rice, and beans and everything was perfect! The tacos were stuffed with meat, the rice was fluffy, and the beans has a great taste. The service was also great, i was sitting in my car charging my phone and they walked my order out to me and to others who were waiting. ill for sure be back.“
“Incredibly fast service! Good taste. Authentic. Good Carnitas. I could see this being a good option for catering a celebration of medium size. It's not so much tex mex, as it is more authentic Mexican food that you'd expect to find in San Diego. I'll definitely stop in again!“
“First time at a Tijuana flats. The customer service was awesome. We felt welcomed and were greeted and explained the process immediately. Restaurant was clean. It was a little cold in there that’s why it got 4 stars on atmosphere. Food was on the bland side (garlic shrimp bowl, taco plate, steak flautas ). I didn’t try any of the sauces though so they may have been the flavor they rely on. $42 for three entrees not bad.“
“The Quesabirrias were very good, as well as the burritos. The tacos really didn't impress me, but the customer service is excellent. I will be back for more Quesabirrias! The Quesabirrias, and burritos were really good. I was not impressed with the tacos but the service was really good. I will be back for more Quesabirrias.“
“Ate at Mama and Papa's Tacos of Pensacola last night for the 1st time. WOW! Maybe the best Mexican restaurant I've eaten at anywhere. Great food, fresh, tasty, outstanding service. Everything that's important, they do well. We'll be regulars!“
“Dude 2 breakfast burritos for $11. They were good size! And I eat a lot. Only recommendation... Put those beans inside the burrito and use up the extra tortilla that's folded in the burrito itself. It would be easier to eat. Besides that it was “
“Oooh okay. So I moved from SoCal to Pensacola a couple years ago and have been trying to find something close to authentic. My boyfriend and I went here today (my first time) and all I can say is "thank you!". It's definitely the closest I've found to a SoCal taco shop. I got their Asada Quesadilla and he got three Asada tacos. Everything was really good. Their salsa is super yummy. We will definitely be back. Also for being crowded the service was really fast and it wasn't too loud either.“
“Hands down my favorite place to eat and relax in town. The owner and staff are so friendly, the food is amazing, and they have incredible events with a very cool outdoor space. Kid and pet friendly. Come relax, enjoy great authentic cuisine, enjoy the atmosphere, and all the amazing people.“
“I'm not usually one to leave reviews on places but this place NEEDS more recognition. I've lived right down the road to it for a year and always overlooked it because its never busy when I pass by on my walks so I assumed it wasn't good. I am happy to say, I was SO WRONG. El Asador down the way is good if you want a massive amount of food for cheap, but without the sauces it's kind of bland. The food at this place also comes with a side of sauces but you really don't need them! The dishes are wonderfully seasoned and also decent sized with quality ingredients that make the price so worth it. I only regret not giving this place a chance sooner, but I'll definitely be going back from now on when I'm craving a great authentic Mexican dish! Absolutely delicious!“
“Great food, atmosphere, and prices. We went during happy hour where the margaritas were doubles for the price of a single. They were very good. I had the Bahn Mi tacos and could have easily eaten 2 more orders, they were so good. Definitely will be making this one of our go-to places. They also had vegan options which made it an easy choice for my step-mother.“
“Everything is great!! I'd definitely go back. The con that I have is that the 1st time we went, they tried to over charge me and tell me that there was no way around it. That wasn't cool at all. The 2nd time we went, it wasn't busy at all. The issue was that we could never find out waiter and when we were ready to go, I had to go get my own to-go box because we couldn't find the waiter and we waited forever to receive our check. Once they fix those issues, they'll be great!!“
“Fantastic tacos. Decent carne selection. Grabbed an Adobada, Pastor, Carnitas and Campechanos. Each taco comes on one homemade tortilla that is a mix of corn and a touch of flour. Really good fresh off the grill.Favorite was the Pastor. Campechanos and Carnitas were close seconds with asada being the least exciting. Pastor was very flavorful and dripping deliciousness. The carnitas has some good chicharron pieces mixed in, chunky and good flavor. Campechanos is what I would get if you like asada, the added chorizo really gives it a good taste.Their salsa is really good. And they have a salsa bar with other sauces.Gonna say, this is my favorite taqueria in Pensacola. El Asador is good, but this place is great.“
“This is by far some of the best Latin food you will have in Pensacola. The flavors are authentic and stand out amongst the other larger Latin restaurants in the area. Skip the other places you see around and head straight to this little place near BP and Holiday Inn!“
“Food prices are reasonable and the food was very good. It is a very large place and they have a market next door which I did not go to. I drove by the place for many years and did not pay any attention until finally I went out to dinner there. I'm glad I did and I would probably go back.Vegetarian options: They have all vegetable items, but most of it is chicken, fish or beef.“
“Always love coming here. I have a bit of a hearing problem, so being sat right next to the fountain makes it hard to have conversations, but that's a "me" problem.Kid-friendliness: Great non-alcohol based restaurant! Very kid-friendly!“
“Some of the best authentic Mexican street-style tacos I've ever had. They are quick, very affordable, and it's always super fresh – they grill everything on the spot when you order. I'm extremely lucky to work just up the road from these cocineras maravillosas.“
“Omg! The customer service was very nice and The food was absolutely delicious from the Chicken Tacos to Carne Asada Fries ! 1000/1000. I would definitely eat at the Cactus Flower Food Truck again! I’m telling you it’s worth every penny !“
“Busy place with not-bad food. I had carne asada; the meat was super soft, but the taste was bland. My husband had Mexican tacos that came with four tacos, so he got two chicken tacos and two meat tacos. I didn't like the presentation of the tacos. All tacos were wrapped in foil, which was uninviting.“
“i'm new to Pensacola from Austin Texas. I think I know a little something about tacos. These are by far the best tacos in Pensacola. Delicious homemade tortillas and chotizo. this food is made with love and care by people who love food. excellent service five stars...Get over there quick!“
