“Was in town watching dogs for someone, and saw that this place A) exists and B) has cheesesteaks. I will try a cheesesteak anywhere, even if gunfire is happening around me. Thankfully, this restaurant is in a no fire zone. But for this sandwich, it would be worth the risk and the added expense of kevlar. I kid you not, their “Awesome Philly Sub” is that and more. I can’t remember eating a better cheesesteak in 2 decades, and I’ve most certainly tried. Two thumbs up isn’t quite enough… I’ll have to borrow some extra thumbs from my enemies to add to the score. Highly recommended! And I’m a cheesesteak snob… they conquered my appetite and I’ll most definitely be back when I’m out this way again. If you live in Lakeland and love sandwiches and HAVEN’T TRIED THIS PLACE, you are missing out and are making a bald eagle cry. I can’t prove that second one, but it sounds legit.“
“Café Cuba has some beautiful pictures of Cuba on the walls, it’s a cute little spot. The sandwiches we ate were good.. they come fairly plain so we had to request the lettuce & tomatoes. We asked for cheese on each but they forgot to add it. The overall flavor was good, the bread was fresh and the temperature was just right. I wasn’t impressed with the cafe con leche at all, improvement in that area is needed. They have a nice size menu & offer hot, ready to serve food as well if you’re in a time crunch. The menu is Cuban and Dominican so the name of the restaurant is a bit misleading. Our experience was nice but the woman behind the counter who attended us, told us to take pictures and told us she wanted a review from us when she brought us our food. I don’t go to restaurants to be told to leave a review. A review is usually asked for if experience is enjoyable, etc. Overall our experience was good and we enjoyed our food.“
“I just happened to be in the area and noticed this "hole in the wall" which is right up my alley. I was greeted by a wonderful cashier who made some good recommendations for the Cuban/crab combo. The food was phenomenal and I look forward to coming back.“
“I wish you still were in Downtown "-( These next door FOLKS!! Had to come and change Everything! Not to mention! Making the sandwich shop a BODEGA! AIN'T GOING TO WORK! UÑA BODEGA EN DOWNTOWN?! “I loved the pizza, I haven't come across such a delicious pizza dough in a while... I recommend all the pizzas. My husband ordered a Cortadito and he loved the coffee...I'm going to try everything they offer because it looks very delicious ?...“
“Amazing food. You know the Cubans are authentic when you see the plaque on the wall saying their bread is sourced from La Segundo. I tried the deviled crab...it's the BEST I've had since the old Seabreeze restaurant closed years ago. I will definitely be back!!“
