“Thank you very much to Cuban pizza La Camagüeyana for delighting us with its exquisite flavor, it will undoubtedly be the place I will go whenever I want a Cuban-style pizza, without a doubt, highly recommended, their pizzas are super super delicious and their smoothies are super super delicious too.“
“I've been going to this restaurant for 30 years... at one point I was let down, but I gave it another try a few weeks ago.OMG! The Stuffed Piquillo Pepper appetizer is AMAZING! I used the bread and turned the appetizer into a sandwich. DO IT!Joe and Giuseppe at the bar were phenomenal beyond words. They took such good care of my husband and me...I can't wait to go again. Gracias Casa Columbia!!!“
“A lovely unique place. All the wonderful reviews are true! Everything about it was pleasant and enjoyable. We’re looking forward to returning and highly recommend it!Vegetarian options: Many unique vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: Huge menu for people with food allergies. Food is prepared to order very fresh.“
“Service was great, staff was friendly, and the food was good! I had the Cuban sandwich - I give it 5 stars. The bread had just enough crunch to it that it didn't tear my mouth up. It was buttery and warm! I love that it's served with lettuce, onions and pickle. It also comes with tomato but I omit that. I had a side of black beans and yellow rice as well. My husband got the Ruben, and there were a few fatty pieces of meat in it- the reason for the 4 stars. He said it was good, tasted great just didn't like the fatty pieces, he said it was a bit chewy. Overall, I recommend this restaurant. We both agreed we would come back. Our server was really sweet, and attentive.“
“Caroline was the most amazing server. We have been to a lot of places in Tampa but have NEVER had this kind of beautiful service. Her counseling on nachos were impeccable. I highly recommend Caroline! . If she is not your server, ask for her! The best nachos Mark has ever had, and he’s from NEW YORK! He’s had his peace! Thank you Caroline you are so sweet and kind. Love, Mark, Lisa, Iz, Rach, Alyssa“
“A friend recommended we try Las Palmas Latin Grill, apparently they liked the food… so my wife and I decided to stop by for dinner and see what it was all about. The restaurant seating are is not very large, but the place is very clean, nicely decorated with a contemporary style and the music playing was on point. The menu has a decent selection of offerings, even my wife and daughter who are vegetarians found something delicious to eat. The primary server and co-owner handles all of the tables in a timely manner and is cordial enough to make you feel welcomed. Being our first time here, we wanted to try as many things as we could so we got a lot of sides and an appetizer. Everything was prepared and cooked fresh, everything was seasoned to perfection. Even the deserts we tried were delicious! Now, let’s talk about the STAR of the show, but before I do that, let me put into prospective who I am. I am a total foodie, a real meat lover. I have owned several grill and smokers, and specialize in smoking Short Ribs, Prime Ribs with reverse sears, Briskets and the occasional treat of amazing Wagyu filets in the BGE. So I am VERY picky about my steaks. I am usually disappointed with steaks from Long Horn and other big chain steak restaurants…Now, in the menu I see something that caught my attention. Churrasco Steak with a very bold claim underneath (The best in Town). I believe this was the only item in the menu without a price next to it. After inquiring with the server (co-owner) she explained that it is charged at current market price and today that steak is about $44 dollars. Despite my wife almost choking on her water I decided to go ahead and order it. Anyone who makes such a bold claim and charges a premium better be prepared to back it up. So I ordered the Churrasco and asked for it to be cooked Medium. After a few minutes of waiting the food came out. Before I reveal my thoughts on the steak let me say that every dish that came to the table was put together very nicely. I take my fork and knife and cut straight down the middle of the churrasco to see if it was cooked to my request. It was a perfectly cooked medium steak! Then I sliced a piece and gently put it closer to my mouth so I could smell it before tasting it. The smell was amazing, mouth watering with anticipation. I finally started eating the steak and the flavor profile was perfect, the tenderness was amazing. I remember closing my eyes momentarily to allow all of my senses to focus on enjoying this delicious piece of steak. When I reopened my eyes and looked towards the kitchen, the Chef and Owner “Ramses” was standing there looking at me as if he was waiting to see my reaction… I looked at him and smiled, gave him a thumbs up and said, it’s amazing! He came to the table and explained that he gets this cut brought directly to him from a game in Arkansas where they raise their cows to be extra fatty and tender. (I think maybe they are trying to replicate what the Japanese do to get Wagyu steaks)… He said, he wants to have the best churrasco in town, that’s why he goes the extra mile to get the best meat he can. I must give Ramses a shout out for making this steak so perfectly delicious. Cooking churrasco can be tricky because it’s such a thing cut, and for him to make it perfectly as I wanted it and with such an amazing flavor profile, I was really impressed. So here are my final thoughts….Yes, $44 dollars for a steak is somewhat on the high end for this cut. But, if you do not ruin it yourself by asking for it to be cooked anything more than medium. You will enjoy a mouth watering piece of meat.We enjoyed everything that we ordered and would definitely come back to Las Palmas soon!Vlad.“
“This place is Great!! From the Food to the Pricing and right back to the Owner and employees!! Been going here a min of twice a week. Got most of my fellow workers hooked on Papis Cafe. They close at 3pm and only open from Monday through Friday. Breakfast Lunch and buy you a dinner plate to take home. My name is Willie and I definitely approve this Message!!“
“Best food in a very long time! We, accidentally, by unforseen circumstances were in the area and Googled restaurants nearby, saw the 5* review and tried it. INCREDIBLE! Absolutely deserves the 5 *****! We will definitely drive the 40 min from home to come back!“
“Great place, great food, very friendly staff treats everyone like family, has outside seating area, always has fresh juices and homemade pastries, I eat lunch here everyday and will always continue to come back and be a loyal customer for the past 5 years.“
“This is our favorite place to eat!! The view, the service, the food, the drinks... all top notch!! On our visit this past weekend, we were taken care of by Anitra, who did a lovely job and took very good care of us. We also have to say so much about Adrian who not only welcomed us in an incredibly friendly manner, he literally walked up to the upstairs deck to get us when our table was ready! He then talked congenially with us on the walk down the stairs and to our table. Such a warm and wonderful welcome, it set a tone of happiness throughout the entire meal!“
“It is a shame that I cant provide them with more stars. The food is delicious and with high quality. I go back and enjoy their food every time that I have a chance. They expanded their menu, there is more options now then a month ago... still a great choice.New review,Im back and as always great food, very tasty, I love it here.Today again, ...we stopped by and enjoy this great food. Everything is good but the steak sandwich is amazing.“
“A hidden Cuban gem in Tampa, offers a delightful culinary experience. With its authentic Cuban, Latin American, and Spanish flavors, it stands out as a must-visit for locals and tourists alike. The restaurant boasts a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, complemented by a friendly staff that adds to the overall dining experience.Their menu, a blend of traditional and innovative dishes, caters to a variety of tastes. The sandwiches are particularly noteworthy, often highlighted in reviews as a highlight. Whether it's for a hearty breakfast or a fulfilling lunch, Palaus ensures each dish is prepared with care and served to perfection. The coffee at Palaus is also a standout, making it a perfect spot for morning visits. Its convenient location and consistent quality make it a popular choice for a quick meal or a leisurely catch-up session over great food. With a high rating from patrons, Palaus Restaurant truly embodies the essence of Cuban culinary excellence in Tampa.“
“Went in there this morning and got three Bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and a Cafe con Leche. Everything was great, the service was great and they were very fast and friendly! I can’t believe how reasonable the prices are on the menu and for the quality of the food and how it tasted what a deal! Sure beats Dennys or McDonald’s!!“
“Empanadas filled differently. 4pk/$25($7ea. hey, it's Armature Works). Fresh Prince: take on a Philly. Buffalo Soldier 2.0: buffalo chicken. Cheeseburger in Paradise: as advertised. Tampa Girl: a Cuban in an empanada. All delicious. Taste like they were baked or air fried. Thank God, because the insides were pretty gooey with cheese ?. Cute baking mold with the names. There's tacos, too. I hear it's another great transition from a food truck. If you're trying not to have a full meal, most of the places in AW don't help, even the smaller kiosks seemed geared to larger(and pricier) offerings. See my review of AW.“
“Stayed at an AirBnb a block away and just happened upon this place. The food is fantastic! Ate several times during the few days we were there. Tried their cuban sandwich, several breakfast items, and their cuban coffee. Everything was just fantastic.“
“Quaint little sandwich place, the service was good but a little slow. We ordered Cubans, rice and beans, fries, tostones and drinks took a bit of time to get our order. The food itself was fine nothing extraordinary but it was good. Would probably go again for lunch.“
“Our family went to this bakery during our family vacation August 2023. My husband researched this location months before to try out hand on some local/historical cuisine. When we arrived the staff were welcoming and helped us decide our food choice. We all had sandwiches which tasted amazing on the homemade bread baked fresh daily. The desserts were delightful. I had the guava cheese turnover style dessert that brought me back to my summers visiting family in Barbados. If you’re ever in Ybor City, please check them out! Food is good, people tan bueno y el comida es deliciosa.“
“Holy smokes the food here is insanely good. The Chicken arepa is a savory, tender and moist flavor bomb wrapped in a nicely crisped arepa. The cilantro garlic sauce is creamy, delicious and compliments the arepa well. It’s a shame that I’m just visiting the area because I’d probably stop by multiple times per week if I lived here. Forgot to take photos of the arepa because I ate it that fast oops“
“I've been visiting mr.special for years since I've always worked close by their service is always exceptional since they are always willing to go above and beyond to please their costumers my friend and I used to always order a Cuban sandwich with honey and they went and bought a big container of honey just for my friend and I.i very much recommend it to all.“
“Cute little coffee sandwich shop. Stopped in for some afternoon coffee and found a perfect cup of coffee. My daughter got a simple Cuban coffee for quick amazing little picked me up with perfect ratio of coffee to sweetness. I enjoyed a coffee con leche try delicious, creamy milk with just the right sweetness to still taste and enjoy the coffee. I have tried coffee on leche in other coffee chains and they are terrible this is what o have been looking for and will be back! Corner little shop next to grocery spot with a small sitting area inside and sandwich options which must be good because a lot of pick up orders to go!“
“This was hands down the best Cuban food I’ve had in a long time. You know the food is going to taste good when it takes a minute to explain what you want to your cook! He was amazing and very helpful. We had the Cuban sandwich and (steak milanesa a caballo) steak & egg with Cuban rice. The food truck itself has a cute couple benches where you can sit and enjoy your meal which I definitely recommend eating it while it’s hot.“
“The family and people working there are awesome and very friendly. So recommend. I worked out their for two weeks, and I went in 4 times. I'll definitely be going back. The amount of food you get in a to go plate is great for the $$.Parking: It's in a plaza so their is parking just not much. Go around to the back and park as well. I did with my monster truck.“
“This is my spot, they’re super friendly although some of the crew know little English they’re super friendly. The food has flavor and you can eat off the plate all day that’s how much food they give. This is definitely recommendation for me to whoever looking for Tampa style Spanish food“
“We ordered a large Cuban Sandwich and 2 Devil Crabs for take out dinner. The large Cuban was wonderful and prepared just as I requested. The Cuban was very large (like 2 regular size) and had lots of meat. It was terrific. The devil crab was pretty mushy, not the best. The service was very quick and efficient. The market was very clean, very nice and they had a nice wine selection at very good prices. I would definitely recommend.“
“I picked up my order from Caribbean Twist on 3/30, and I must say, they nailed catering for my recent family get-together. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how delicious the roast pig, oxtail, picadillo, black beans, and yellow rice were. The food was a hit, and I appreciate the excellent service.“
“West Tampa Sandwich Shop, a childhood memorable place that became an adulthood frequented place from time to time.As a little boy growing up in the 70’s visiting with my dad and mom, to my years as a police officer stopping for lunch or “1010” as it’s known, and as an adult now with a wife and kids and grand kids this place will always be memorable and iconic. The service, the food, the Cuban Sandwich is always 5 star and will always be 5 star.Keep up the great work #WTSS“
“The food here is just simply amazing. everything is well. seasoned great portions and you won't be disappointed. Their empanadas are literally the best I've ever had. If you're in the mood for some good Spanish food or just a great breakfast, this is this place.“
“Nice little place with pretty good food! Maybe five tables in the joint. We got the palomilla steak, Moro, and fried plantains. Steak was nice and tender, people were nice and welcoming. Lady knew everyone by name! Reminds me of the little mom and pop restaurants growing up! Will definitely be back! Also, the colada we got after was really good. Have a nice selection of sodas as well! Give it a try!“
“Was visiting from out of town and gave this spot a try...it did NOT disappoint. I couldn't believe I ate the whole thing. Also very affordable. The pork platter cost $10. Lady behind the counter was sweet. More of a casual, take-out restaurant“
“If you are looking for authentic, delicious, Cuban food at low prices, this is your cafe! I ordered the chicken quarter, black beans and rice, and yucca. Everything was warm, tasty and delicious! The chicken was very moist. My order was take out and my take out box is now empty, except for the bones. I can't wait to go back!“
“Omg we came here and I didn't know what to expect it was my first time here. Upon walking in I smelled all this delicious food which was being cooked and on the server bar with people making your plate with what you wanted. I could decide heck I wanted the entire food bar! Everything was fresh and the menu was something to behold with food that would appeal to most people. The salad bar!!! I turned and saw it after I'd ordered my food and paid! Gosh! Well I went back the next day to get food again and this the salad bar. It was fresh with all the ingredients that a salad lover would want! The place was clean with a local feel! Love it!“
“I was on the hunt for baked empanadas and found this little gem. The selection is impressive with about a dozen varieties each of sweet and savory pastries. Everything, including the dough, is made in their shop. The classic beef empanada was delicious and I really liked the southwest chicken (even if it's a bit Americanized). Two empanadas were filling and, since they were not fried, hopefully a bit healthier. The staff were as warm, friendly, and welcoming as can be. The seating area is pretty small and they also have a little patio outside. I will definitely be back.“
“So glad I picked this place while in town! The food was the bomb!! ?Service was great and the atmosphere was very clean. The pics they had on their google page drew me in and it did not disappoint. Presentation is everything and it was presented well! ?“
“I ordered moros rice to go with picadillo and to stones and I did not get my moro rice how in the hell you suppose to eat just picadillo and to stones...it's not the first time that i have had something missing doesnt someone check the food when its take out????????????MR.“
“This is by far the best local eatery! I eat here almost every day. All the food is outstanding; as I eat healthy, I normally get the steak or chicken with salad and yuca or black beans. Of course a Cuban coffee and just sometimes one of their delicious desserts. I always bring home yuca and salad for dinner. For now, am staying away from carbs and have lost 11 pounds since going here.!! The servers are fantastic and very friendly. The entire restaurant is clean which is a huge thing to me! Highly recommend!!“
“Coming from Miami and Cuban cuisine being part of my upbringing, the best Cuban sandwich I’ve had in years was at Flan Factory. Let’s start by saying the frita took me back to late clubbin nights and going to Flagler for a Frita afterwards. Hands down the best! The Cuban sandwich was spot on. The Cuban fried rice was OMG delicious! Side of tostones and fried cheese was fire! Washed it down with the horchata iced coffee and topped it off with 13 flavors of flan. Yes you heard me 13 and more flavors to choose from. I couldn’t get just one.“
