The Dutch Pot Jamaican Restaurant offers a mixed experience. Some say it tastes like a Jamaican grandmother is cooking in the back, with everything delicious, especially the best jerk chicken ever tasted. The jumbo oxtail is a real star, tender and rich, and the potato pudding is a sweet surprise. However, other reviews mention the oxtail was ok with a lot of fat, and the plantains were ok. The beef soup was very bland with very little meat, and the pineapple ginger juice tasted like sugar water. The pumpkin pudding was nasty, tasting like gel, and the mac and cheese looked dry. The layout is buffet style. The lady's are extremely nice, patient, and friendly, like a favorite auntie. Portions are big and generous, but go early for specialties of the day.
