“We came to Taste on Monday night after traveling all day with a baby. They welcomed us with open arms and served us a feast. The servers are AMAZING. There was no judgement for us being not at our best shape.

I came back for lunch with the baby the next day and my experience was just as good. I even paid incorrectly and they were so understanding. Best part of the hotel by far.“

They also have on the side fresh drinks made with real fruit, talk about refreshing specially in this hot weather. The elotes they have are a plus too. You don’t have to go to the depths of the sea to find a Pearl that genuinely highlights the flavors, beauty, and aroma of the sea, satisfying your palate with every bite. -- As a seasoned traveler who has explored 68 countries and 36 states, I approach restaurant reviews with four primary criteria: taste, presentation, ambiance, and service. Our server was quick to introduce herself, attentive, and a wealth of information to help us navigate the menu and find the best dining choices for our expectations and preferred food choices. -- 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 – We dined there during lunch, which provides a large variety of snacks, starters, shellfish, sandwiches, and entrees. We started with the Smoked Whitefish Spread and Garlic Shrimp before moving to our entrees, which included Scallops and Atlantic Salmon. -- 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐬 – Unfortunately, this is where there was a slight misstep. When ordering the garlic shrimp, the initial thought is that you would be presented with shrimp with an infusion and obvious flavoring of garlic. To our surprise, the dishes were disguised with an intense red pepper flavor, which created a discerning spice that was welcome. The heart of the dish was lost as all you could truly taste was the spiciness of the red pepper – failing to elevate the flavors of the shrimp and the garlic. What was an additional disappointment was that it was very difficult to enjoy the Whitefish Spread with the lingering taste of the spiciness of the red peppers. After guzzling down some water (and whiskey), I was able to enjoy the true elegance of the Whitefish Spread, which highlighted an amazing balance of smokiness, savory flavors, and creamy/smooth texture. The dish was even more elevated with onions, sweet peppers, capers, and sesame seeds. -- 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬 – Only one word could truly describe the entrees – PERFECT. The chef was able to truly highlight the freshness, favors, and tenderness of the salmon and the scallops while pairing the seafood with the perfect blend of deep, complex flavors with purees that provide smooth textures, sweet flavors, and subtle buttery notes that complement the seafood rather than overpowering the dish. From the visual execution to the perfected flavor combinations, it offers sophistication and memorable taste with every bite! -- Simply put – just slightly short of perfection. While the dining experience had a minor imperfection, the entrees truly allowed us to walk away with an unforgettable experience that has us yearning to come back for more.“

Would love to see more diversity (black bartenders) being that majority of the crowd is black but only one black girl is behind the bar which is oddly strange. “Although, I’ve never had the time to be able to swing by here in person. Recently, my girlfriend and I have become obsessed with the delivery BOGO that they offer! The avocado toast and churro latte are absolutely amazing!
One time, they gave us the ice on the side and the coffee in a little plastic jar; it was so convenient! A big issue for us with ordering iced drinks for delivery is watered down coffee. This way, we were able pour our coffee into the ice and the drink tasted fresh!

“I was here during hurricane helene and the manager John got into a cussing match with customers. Very unprofessional and driving away the few customers that were present. The poor bartenders probably made very little money on tips working during the poor weather, and their manager was driving away customers that were there. Awful!!!“

“We really enjoy Trivia Night. However, service is poor. We visit every Wednesday with our family. This past week was the worst service I’ve ever experienced. I was alone for a bit this week and had my laptop and books spread out on the table. It was impossible not to notice my setup. The waitress had one other table and it was right next to me. I waited over 30 minutes before going inside and ordering a drink. She said she didn’t see me. We made eye contact multiple times. I’m sure she probably thought the big party was a big tip. However, the rest of my family was joining me. We tip well, so definitely her loss.“

“The food and views were superb. The waiter was very nice but the reason why I didn’t give 5 stars is because it’s a pet peeve of mine for a restaurant to add the tip when only 2 people are eating. Compounding that was the waiter didn’t tell me the tip was included in the bill. This is not right. They need to change their policy or at least tell customers up front that tip is added to bill. Don’t say this is standard because we ho to restaurants 3-4 times a week and I have rarely seen tips added to a couples bill but if it is, it’s told upfront!“

We didn't order food, only drinks here but the view was nice, the music was great & the service was good. “My family recently stayed at this location for a night while visiting the local theme parks. The hotel was excellent. It’s clean, the staff are friendly, and the hotel itself has a fun modern personality.

The location is walking distance to a lot of great restaurants and bars. My husband and I visited the WXYZ bar in the hotel and had some great drinks and service. The bartender was willing to accommodate tastes and had great recommendations (night of 06/05).

The front desk associate upgraded us to a suite, which was a very pleasant surprise. My two girls loved the room and the extra space along with the view from the top floor. The popcorn in the lobby was another favorite of theirs. The staff at the front always welcomed us and assisted when needed.

The pool area is nice and it overlooks the river. When in downtown Tampa again, we all agreed that this would be the hotel to go to. Great stay!“
