My wife first got me into 99 Bottles through one of their Sunday community walks — a couple miles with a great group, followed by waters, mimosas, and New York bagels back at the bar. The whole thing is super well-organized and just has a great vibe. Bart (one of the owners, I think) is the man — welcoming, thoughtful, and clearly cares about building a real community around this place. The food’s great, the menu’s creative, and the service is always on point. We’ve met some awesome like-minded people through their events and it’s become one of our favorite spots in Sarasota. Just a genuinely good place run by genuinely good people.“

“We ate lunch at Neat today and the food was delicious!! My husband had the chicken sandwich and I had the street tacos. Everything was fresh and the flavors were amazing! Our server was very nice and we had a conversation with the owner Jeremy who talked to us about all the plans for the restaurant including a bourbon tasting experience and live music. I would highly recommend a visit to Neat!“

“Best oysters I have ever had and I have been a oyster connoisseur for at least 35 years from when I lived in maryland. The oysters are humongous and that is so rare to find these days. Very friendly work team and you can see that they are very happy to be there and they are proud of what they offer to the customers. I went there for the first time last month and look forward to going back again. The high quality oysters have spoiled me where I will not go anywhere else now for oysters. Once you have monks oysters, you won't go back to any place else.“

“Awesome spot to hang out. They have awesome food with the best prices around. There are always delicious specials on the board by the bar. They have darts, chess, and tons of board games. Sometimes they have baseball games on which is one of my favorite things about the place. There’s also live music and trivia on weeknights and it’s a blast! Highly recommend.“

“I really enjoyed this place it had a very bright, fun and great atmosphere. I liked that there was a good mix of ages for customers. I didn't score the food because I didn't have any. I just went for drinks and some fun. I gave the service for stars simply because at least two bartenders and a barback just glanced over instead of asking what I needed. The bartender was very polite, cute and helpful except she made both of my drinks incorrectly the first time. I'll chalk it up to her being new at her job. Over all I would go back.“

“My husband and I visited for the first time in October during our 3 week vacation. I cannot say good enough things about this place! The people there are so friendly and welcoming in true Irish spirit! The food was amazing and worth every penny spent! We even got to talk with the owner while we were there…both times. It was so good that we made sure to go back a second time before we came back home to Ohio. I’m so sorry we didn’t check the place out our first week there because that probably would have become our second home while we were there! Eileen is awesome!“

“Wow Wow Wow! Absolutely delicious and authentic Italian food! I never order pasta from a pizza joint... I'm way too serious about my pasta. I took a chance on Capo as I'd had a slice of their eggplant pizza and it was fabulous. I orded the rigatoni bolognese, and requested penne as a substitute. It was heaven. The sauce was perfect - the amount of garlic was subtley handled as was the rest of the seasoning. No bitterness and not too sweet either. You can tell the sauce had been cooked awhike and not rushed. The meat was high quality and the coupe de gras was to burrata! A huge helping of cheese right in the middle of the dish. The serving was huge... I only needed it for myself and I got 3 meals from it. Of course as all pasta lovers know it was even better the second day. I had the good fortune to be offered a meatball to try by the owner. I went back the next week for an order of meatballs and tried the gnocchi. Highly highly highly recommend giving this place a try!!!“

“Definitely a nice little place, don't know how I really feel about it being that there were some questionable individuals there. However the bartender was very nice and definitely keeps watch over her bar and definitely cpuld tell she kept an eye out for the women which is a really good bartender if you ask me.But To be fair about seeing the questionable dudes I was there briefly to pick up my "lady":) ? after she had some drinks with some friends. So I highly doubt that's the Norm. Bar is clean and doesn't smell like a or look like a hole in the wall next time I will spent a little more time there .“

“We were down in Sarasota and it was a light night for the bar but we truly enjoyed that atmosphere and artwork on the walls.
We have a gay bar in largo very similar but this was unique with the art on the walls of the hallway.
Next time I hope they have a bigger crowd.“

“Good local hang out. Nice patrons. No crazy, drunken, stumbling, spilling drinks on you types. Drunk, yes. Frat party atmosphere, no. Late 20s through mid 40s crowd. It's Sarasota, so a few older. Beer and wine only. Fridge full of Twisted Tea, White Claw, those types of drinks. Let's you bring in food--we brought in pizza. No smoking inside. Outside high top tables, inside table area and bar, and one FREE pool table in the back. Wish the music was a little louder, but with all the fun talking you have to talk loud anyway. Concrete floor, bathrooms sanitary. Let's you run a tab. Overall chill, good ol' boy, welcoming, local spot.“

“Happened across Scalawags after doing a quick Google search of the name while in Sarasota area. Came in about noon on a Wed, just a few mixed age locals there, friendly people, fun and good laughs! Mainly a pool tables and electronic games type bar, dimly lit. Kitchen opens about noon, had a beer on tap and ordered the Grouper Sub, which was great - would get it again. Had another beer. Cash only for Papa Ron's food menu. Bar service is Scalawags, pay separately from food - works for them and me - no problem. Will return!!BTW - The Scalawags name came to mind because of the recent Gasparilla fest in Tampa and also because there is a Scalawags Whiefish & Chips in Mackinaw City, MI that a good friend of mine created, owned and operated for 30 years - serves the BEST fresh-caught Great Lakes Whitefish anywhere! So if you ever go there - you won't be disappointed there either!“

“My sister came to visit, she's an avid electronic dartboard player. so I went on line and found Coleman's Tavern has several dart machines, we went there for drinks and darts and met a lot of nice people. Coleman's is a nice little neighborhood bar with friendly people and good service. if I lived closer I would frequent there often.“

I live nearby so brought my boyfriend for a leg of his Valentines Day scavenger hunt to play darts (they have 2 dart boards) & we couldn’t because they have busy dart nights. Call ahead if you have your heart set on darts. So we sat and drank an expensive Guinness! Guess that’s just the going rate these days? Very cozy place, nothing fancy, great little hole in the wall neighborhood pub.“

“Food was amazing and they even have an amazing selection of non-alcoholic beers. Our server, Jenna, was fantastic! And Mark, the bartender, was able to make some great drink recommendations. We got the fried goat cheese appetizer which was so melty and creamy and SO good with the fig jam. I got the Kona burger and my friend got the lobster grilled cheese special. The grilled cheese was amazing! We would absolutely come back for another good time and amazing service.“

I was very impressed with all of the options, games, service and management.
The GM, David, kept a great pulse on a very diverse clientele while supporting two amazing bartenders, Ms. Kate & Ms. Anna... both of whom were obviously veterans of their jobs and experts of their craft.
Dart league, pool league, Golden Tee, Punching Bag and a very clean atmosphere!!!

“First of all, if there is anyone else who has a OCD about bathrooms. Whether at home or in public then you'll appreciate this one. Stopped to have a drink with a girlfriend of mine and needed to use the restroom.. I had to turn around look make sure I was still in 57 tavern because there bathroom beyond immaculate. The bar tender Jessica, She is on point..I live around the corner but normally drive a distance to another bar. Until today. Ill definitely be back. Thanks Jessica“

“Amazing sundown experience. Started my afternoon at the Tiki bar which was a good call. They were short staffed and helping with orders on the beach. Though Solo, it was a semi quiet bar family and children friendly. Shout out to (Joe) who attended to me and was very attentive. After my meal I went to lounge. Beach waiters were attentive as well i.e water bucket and umbrella etc. I felt well attended to though I did not require much. I want to applaud management towards the etiquette and team spirit the men and women had. I could hear many complaints of orders being skipped or taking too long, yet felt the crew did thier best by compensating in other area's. I do have to say to update the beach lounge chairs they are very uncomfortable.“
