“Upside Down Cafe, 718 S. Patrick Dr. Satellite Beach, FL, 32937 3.75 Stars Looking down at my random name generator, I couldn't help but get the feeling of déjà vu. Doing some quick research, I found out why. Six years ago, my device pointed me to the same location, Upside Down Cafe in Satellite Beach. I couldn't recall if it was good, bad, or average, but one thing did stick out: this place had the ignominious distinction of being the first slop house with a server that lied to me, got caught in the lie, and as such, was forced to offer up an apology of sorts. Just as I finished reminiscing about all of that, I pulled into the parking lot (it's not that far up the beach from me). I was shown a table, handed a menu, and left to my own amusement. Shortly thereafter, the same waitress as six years ago walked up and introduced herself as Mary (how could I forget?). This time around, Mary did an OUTSTANDING job to the point of making the preliminary list for the best 3Q server! What makes her so good this time, you ask? Her candor, knowledge, demeanor, timing, and overall professionalism have her standing neck and shoulders above the majority of her peers. Well done, Mary. After placing an order for the Baked Oatmeal and a BLT, I handed the menus back to Mary and focused my attention on my seraphic company. Being this close to the airbase, it was either that or focus on the heavy avignation traffic. That was an easier decision than choosing menu items at my favorite place. It wasn't too long before Mary returned laden with my order. As she placed the Baked Oatmeal down, my first thought upon seeing it was, "Did I order a dessert and not remember?" I mean, just look at that presentation! I've never had oatmeal look like this before, and the taste was just as delightful on the palate as it was pleasing to the eye. The oatmeal was dense, thick, and exceptionally delicious. This was, by far, some of, if not the best, oatmeal to ever pass my lips. The other item on the menu this morning was their BLT. For the life of me, I swear the bacon was microwaved, or at the least warmed up in the microwave, as it was not crispy. Bacon is to be crispy. Period. Other than that, it was average. At least my company was divine, so my attention was not focused on the soft bacon. The Big Boy says, "If you need a quick above-average breakfast served with unparalleled professionalism, you can't go wrong with Upside Down Cafe."“

“My hubby and I stopped by for the first time today for brunch. Let me tell you it was FANTASTIC! Our server Nicole was very attentive and always had a smile on her face. Excellent service! We ordered the California Omelette with Bayou home fries and the Blueberry stuffed French toast with peppered bacon. Both were amazing! We also ordered the Sangria Mimosas and they were so good! The Chef heard it was our first time there and came out to ask how everything was and thanked us for choosing to try their place out. I thought that was super cool. We are so glad we picked this place. It’s a very cute little restaurant with a great vibe that has indoor and outdoor seating. Everyone was very nice and the food was really, really good. I think it’s my new favorite for brunch! We will have to come back and try the lunch next time. Thank you for the great service!“

“I first tried this place when I visited Melbourne Beach a few years ago. I come back here every chance I can get. The Fish Sandwich is outstanding! It's so simple but so delicious. Not frozen fish like typical restaurants. You could never go wrong with their Cuban Sandwich. Their pork is sooo good! ...especially with that chipotle aioli they make. I also got to try the Seafood empanada today. (i want more!) So so so good! Can't forget the Guava & Cheese empanada for desert. My daughter (and me!) loves them!!“

“Chef Toni is an amazing cook. I have eaten here twice and have had an incredible experience both times! If you are a foodie I highly recommend Cedars. Both times we asked her to just cook for us and she did just that! Thank you again Chef Toni! We cannot wait to book a Chefs tasting ❤️“

“This food is so much better then Camp Lejeune. I mean common USMC. I retired in 2016 and was used to getting soggy chicken wings and a salad Buffett run by people with autism. By autism I mean an E5 Navy SK got njp for hooking up with a disabled person. This chow is great. I do believe management needs a kick in the butt for only keeping one elderly white person on the pizza area while the usual Filipino Mafia and crew get to chit chat on the food line not even caring to offer a helping hand. I had a female 04 and male 05 agree with me on this watching her bust her butt. Great food needs better leadership. Oh yeah the views the bees knees.“

“Oh my goodness! The blueberry cheesecake is probably the BEST cheesecake I’ve ever had. She said it was made from scratch. What a difference compared to the stuff made commercially. My hubby had the Key Lime Cheese Cake and thought it was really good. We’ll be stopping in whenever we’re back to Cocoa Beach.
Parking: Easy free parking street parking.“

“Banana River Cafe, 1301 S. Patrick Dr., Satellite Beach, FL 32937 5 Stars I swore four years ago I would never go back, yet here I am like fish from yesterfang in the parking lot of a restaurant that at one time (under previous ownership) was my number one breakfast place in Brevard County. After it was sold, it was turned into a joint that wallowed in bad food and even worse service. As I said, that was four years ago. I have since deleted that review. Now, I can say that it is safe to return to the water, but I get ahead of myself. What changed? The new owner/chef is a CIA graduate who did his externship at Michelin Star restaurant Gramercy Tavern in New York City. Emerson Krause turned down a position at the famed restaurant upon graduation to return home and bring Brevard a taste of things seldom sampled in this part of the Sunshine State. I can safely speak for all of my fellow Floridians on the Space Coast when I say, "Thank you, Emerson and welcome home!" After being seated at a delightfully decorated table (I love the paint scheme on the chairs), we were approached by a charming lady named Nicole. Nicole was outstanding in every way a service professional should be. I asked Nicole for an order of the Bacon Sea Salt French Toast, one Texan Potato Stack and a San Antonio Biscuit Bennie. Snapping a few quick pics of the warm environs, I sat back, soaked in the peaceable atmosphere and awaited Nicole's return. The aromas were enticing to such a degree; it was all I could do to take some pictures before digging into the edible artwork before me. First to saunter across my palate was a taste of the Bacon Sea Salt French Toast. One taste and I was deep in Hog Heaven. That bacon! While I love "meat candy" more than almost any other animal flesh, that is not what set this order of the tried and true breakfast staple of French Toast apart. It was the bread and execution. This bread was fresh, thick and griddled to a delightful golden brown. The outside had just the right amount of crunch, while the inside was airy, fresh and wonderfully warm. I could eat this every day and never tire of it. Heaving a sad sigh of regret, I moved on to the next dish to be sampled, the Texan Potato Stack. Every Potato Stack is served with eggs over easy on herb roasted potatoes and topped with jack cheddar cheese sauce with your choice of toast or biscuit. The Texan came with added chorizo, onion, peppers, salsa, guacamole and sour cream. One bite and again, I was done. The flavors cascaded down my gullet like so many drops of gastronomical gratification. The last to dance across my taste buds this morning was the San Antonio Biscuit Bennie. I won't bore you with any more details; suffice it to say that this was on par with the rest of the meal. Everything was cooked to perfection and the flavor combinations were unparalleled in a breakfast biscuit (if this still qualifies as such). The Big Boy says, "If it is breakfast or lunchtime, stop what you are doing and go there right now."“
