“We love this hotel and have eaten many times at the Tap Room, usually for breakfast on the patio. Servers are consistently friendly and engaging. Colin was no exception. After walking out of Teak last night, we decided to go to the Tap Room. Husband was thrilled that they serve Allagash White, a draft beer from Maine. At Colin's suggestion, I got a Gasper's Delight, a rum and banana concoction, that was delicious. Husband got the rueben; I got a caprese salad (not the usual presentation) and grilled asparagus ($2 for 4 spears). Everything was fine. No complaints about the food. But Colin elevated the experience--he made a meal that was just fine go to excellent. It was a good reminder that service can often 'make or break' a meal. Filled our soft drink glasses several times without us asking, emptied ash trays often, made sure he asked if our friend was ready for another beer. We definitely WILL be back.
