Mullet's Fish Camp is a hidden gem with an amazing peel and eat shrimp dish and unique flavors like the "Florida Man Style" fish. The nautical-themed restaurant offers plenty of seating inside, on the porch, under the tiki hut, or outside. The staff is friendly and gracious, making customers feel welcomed even near closing time. The old-style house turned restaurant has generous portions at reasonable prices. Must-try dishes include the smoked fish spread, smoked chicken wings, grouper nuggets with Joe Dirté sauce, and the broccoli to die for. The food is highly praised, with the gulf grouper in hoisin-ginger sauce being the best eaten by one guest. The wings are also very good, with a sauce unlike any other, and the blackened snapper and fresh catch (Rock grouper) dinners are perfectly cooked. The Merman’s creamy Cajun pasta with blackened shrimp is a favorite. The environment is welcoming, and the staff, including the bartender, Josh, are phenomenal. With a good happy hour, excellent cocktails, and a classic Florida fish camp setting, it’s a great place to enjoy a meal in St. Pete. The owners have created a wonderful alternative to downtown spots—an oasis on the south side.
