I love this place! The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly. The prices are very reasonable—two people can eat for under $40. This hidden gem is one of my favorite places in Tallahassee.
I ordered the chicken and cheese pupsa plate with rice and beans. I'm not typically a rice fan, but this rice had lots of flavor! The beans weren't dry and pasty like most places. I forgot to take a picture when our plates first came out, but I did take one lolWe also ordered the chips and guacamole. They make their chips when you order them so don't expect them to come right out when you order. I could have eaten just the chips and guac!! It was so good!

We really enjoyed El Viruleño during our monthly Friends, Fun, and Food Meetup. The restaurant, small and family-owned, welcomed our group of 10 with warmth.The highlight was undoubtedly the Papusas meal, our group favorite.
