Darrell's Diner, located in The Villages off of 466, offers down-home cooking with a cozy atmosphere. The friendly staff hustles to serve delicious meals, with the Red Velvet waffles being a standout choice. While the diner can get busy, it's worth the short wait to enjoy a meal at this beloved spot. However, some customers have experienced unusual incidents, like not being able to customize their orders. Despite this, Darrell's Diner remains a favorite among diners in the area.
The food at Darrell's Diner is praised for its quality and selection. Customers have enjoyed the fresh and crisp veggies in the grilled chicken salad, as well as the hot and flavorful chicken. The fries and chili have also been described as delicious. One customer even created a personalized "Donna Burger" by combining a mushroom burger with grilled onions and A-1 steak sauce, which they found to be delicious.
However, some customers have experienced issues with the service, reporting long waits to be seated and inattentive waitstaff. One customer had an unpleasant experience with the biscuits and gravy, which they found to be lacking in sausage and tasting of raw flour, causing them heartburn. Another customer's omelet was reportedly overcooked and rubbery.
