“Definitely a diamond in the rough!! There were 5 in our party and even tho we waited awhile it was definitely worth it. Our waitress was excellent and let us know from the beginning that she was backed up but would be back to us as soon as she could check on the other tables. She was actually the only server on duty!! The food was also excellent and well worth the wait and the price was very reasonable. We also sat where we could watch the kitchen staff working their butts off handling table orders as well as a stream of take out orders. All 5 of us agreed our experience was worth every minute. While we were there I didn't hear any complaints at all, which is highly unusual when you have any kind of wait. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We even tipped the kitchen staff for their hard work.“

“Buona ristorante (aka Buona pizza) advertises themselves as a classy Italian restaurant. This place is nothing more than a pizza joint. Extremely small inside with paper table cloths that they tear off from a big roll on the back wall. Ordered garlic bread and calamari for appetizer. Garlic bread was OK, calamari was so tough you could not even chew it. My mom's OSSO BUCO ALLA MILANESE (pork shank) was seasoned good, but I could tell it was cooked earlier and then heated up. The outside of the pork was warm, but the middle was stone cold. My wife and I got a Hawaiian pizza. It is thin crust and extremely soggy. Could not even pick up the pizza slice it was so soft. Had a horrible, weird tast me to it, almost like a sour tomato sauce. Barely even ate one slice and left the rest of it there. Went there for birthday dinner, and it was ruined. I guess our first red flag should have been that on a Saturday evening, it was not even busy.“

“I went to eat here for the first time today with friends I used to work with. We heard that the owner used to work at Italia Mia which is now closed and now own this restaurant. We always had a salad and pizza there so we ordered the same thing here. The sausage, pepperoni and mushroom pizza was absolutely delicious. The thin crust was incredible!! Nice ambience also.“

“Great! We will be back the next time we are in St. Pete. The restaurant started things off on the right foot by graciously accommodating us early when our plans changed. Bailey, our server was perfect. Attentive, prompt, friendly, and helpful. The food was fantastic. “I very seldom write a review but our experience at Gigis on Treasure Island last night was exceptional. The food was excellent but even if it had not been, the service was so exceptional we would not have noticed. I called him the ghost server. “The pizzas are great we ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and it was fantastic. But the pasta entrees are my family’s favorite. The pasta puttanesca is truly amazing. We have been here a few times and we order it with shrimp or blackened chicken. The portions are American Italian so you will have some to take home. The house salad is also excellent. The Italian Margarita is a refreshing drink after a few hours in the burning sun.“

“I waited a very long time to get my to go pizza, it wasn’t because it was not made yet, because it was warm not hot like previous ones, when it was handed to me. Having watched the petite brunette gather in a huddle with her coworker, her conversation in front of waiting customers is rude. Especially when you can hear their negativity! Sunday is a hectic day already, getting ready for the work week and I was left feeling like I was interrupting the petite brunette gossiping about your other employees in ear shot. Customers didn’t come first yesterday and her conversation was a detriment to others in my opinion! Watch out for that one IMO.“

“The manager Michelle is absolutely amazing, she is there ever day almost all day, whom ever the owner is I hope they pays her well and takes good care of her. She deals with some wild customers but she always is so kind, my food is always hot and good. Michelle is the best, the other girl named Meika is amazing customer service , so sweet and kind and always ready to help. She's always helpful to the manager and smiles when you come in. “After landing late at Tampa I was hungry and noticed this place at the side of the road.

Guy behind the counter was polite and took my order quickly. Pizza was fast, only had to wait around ten minutes!

As for the pizza… it slaps hard! Just what I expected, no nonsense American style pizza, full of flavour, loads of topping… what’s not to like!

“We always order 2 of the cheesy Howie Breads and 1 of the Chicken Caesar Salads there but with the Greek dressing. It fills us both up, and it is such a delicious combination. Not all of the Hungry Howie stores have the Caesar Salad, and the Howie Bread is different from store to store. But this store definitely has and makes both really well.“
