“SOL is one of Florida’s hidden treasures. The food was all made from fresh ingredients, and exceptional.

My several dining companions ordered a wide range from across the menu, and everything was exceptional, fresh, and flavorful. Of special note were their incredible tamales, both Mexican filled with shredded pork and steamed in the traditional corn husks, and their Guatemalan tamale with pork on the bone and steamed in a banana leaf. Even the flavorful side of beans was special, with added chorizo. And for one of us, they were able to accommodate a gluten-free dietary restriction with nearly the entire menu available.

From excellent and friendly service, multiple outdoor patios for ample outdoor seating, colorful umbrellas, beautiful Mexican tile floors inside, to a festive garden feeling throughout (there are even live chickens and a happy rooster roaming behind the restaurant!), SOL shines with love.

“Okay, True confessions. I have been eating at The Country Cuban for years. I have made it my practice to try one of the items in the menu at each visit just to make sure I've covered all the bases. And they have all been good. But, I gotta tell you, I found the Best. Sandwich. Ever. It is their Mashup of Chicken Salad and BLT, on Rye bread. Holy Guacamole! It was amazing!! It has officially become my favorite "sammich." To the highly talented ladies at The Country Cuban: SALUTE!!”

A quarter century later she still has the best Mexican food in the best Mexican restaurant Run the best Mexican lady I’ve met and I’ve been to Mexico, speak Spanish now.”

“I go mountain biking at Alafia every saturday morning and I stop here and get food on my way home every single time. I was born and raised in california, and california doesn’t do a lot of things well but its widely agreed that mexican food there is the best in the country. This little taco truck compares to anything I ever ate back home. Food is delicious. The portions are huge. Flautas are phenomenal. Tacos are authentic. I eat at every spot around just to see whats good and this is by far the best mexican I have had within a hundred miles of here.”

“Food was excellent. Homemade tortillas. Had lil cute dogs running around the yard. Best part is open early. The salsas were thick and flavorful. The red salsa was especially delicious although I’d love a lil more spice. Paid $26 for a torta, lemonade, and 3 tacos.

“Garcia’s Bakery is a charming mom-and-pop establishment that specializes in authentic Mexican and South American baked goods. Wimauma is located in the corner of Hillsborough County, it's a perfect spot to enjoy savory food alongside delicious baked pastries, including large cookies, donuts, and other delightful treats. During my visit for breakfast, I ordered a potato and Mexican sausage taco, as well as a bacon, egg, and beans taco. The homemade tortillas truly stood out; you can definitely taste the difference compared to store-bought ones. I was with four friends, and we were patiently served by the cashier, who ensured that our orders were accurate and that everyone was taken care of. We decided to dine in, and since Wimauma is such a small town, we even recognized some of the incoming customers, which added to the family-style atmosphere. After enjoying our breakfast, we spent some time chatting without being disturbed by the staff. It felt like they genuinely appreciated our presence. Overall, we had a wonderful time enjoying authentic food and connecting with the community.”
