SOL is one of Florida’s hidden treasures. The food was all made from fresh ingredients, and exceptional.
My several dining companions ordered a wide range from across the menu, and everything was exceptional, fresh, and flavorful. It was great. Had the caldo mariscos, some tacos, and a couple Modelos. They don't miss.
I live in Sarasota. My friend lives in Lakeland. This restaurant is the halfway point and we are very happy about that. The food is always very tasty and nicely presented. The restaurant is spotless. The prices are great. Indoor and outdoor seating. Trees for shady sitting.

SOL Mexican Restaurante is a hidden gem, widely considered the best Mexican food around. The food is authentic, homemade, and delicious, with everything tasting freshly made from scratch. Portions are good and fair. Popular dishes include fantastic steak tacos on corn tortillas, delicious chile rellenos, carnitas, asada, and delicious flour tortillas. The chips and queso are also great. The meat is never weird or fatty.
The restaurant offers a vibrant and fun atmosphere where you can eat inside or outside. Some prefer the outside area. The place is big and clean, though it does not have A/C. Service is fast, friendly, and great, with super sweet and accommodating staff. The owner provides the best customer service.
It is a beloved spot where many have eaten for years, with some traveling far to return. It is the best spot in Wimauma, hands down.
