It doesn’t matter what day you come in; you’ll always be met by someone warm, welcoming, and ready to explain anything you’d like to know about their WIDE variety of menu items. If you’re not a kava or kratom person, this cafe offers a coffee and tea menu that’s highly customizable. Whatever you’re looking for- something sweet, something strong, something refreshing- the kavatenders (their “bartenders”) will always know how to make it happen. Even when my drink doesn’t taste right the first time (which rarely happens), the staff is beyond happy to add or substitute anything so that it’s just what I want. A literal 2-minute drive from UCF (and right between two major UCF apartments), this is an amazing study spot. Plenty of outlets and a variety of seating, plus free WiFi (after ordering). Plenty of students, professionals, and hobbyists work here, so it’s a productive environment. If you’re looking for a more social atmosphere, they also host social events all throughout the month, from trivia and AYCD kava nights to karaoke and even nature hikes! If I could rate The Muddy Root on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give them an 11. A definite must-try!“

“We came in on a trivia night, which was unbeknownst to us ahead of time. The trivia host was engaging and fun, and the facility was clean with nice pool tables. Our bartender, Matt, made wonderful local beer recommendations and was attentive and friendly. Any company would be lucky to have him. Lastly, the beer selection was fantastic and properly geared towards Irish brews. Very happy to have stopped by!“

“Love this place! I'm new in town, and I've found that this is the best bar/food spot in the area. The food is great (they make an amazing burger), the drinks are great, and the prices are very very solid. Service is fantastic too. I came in today having a somewhat cruddy day, but Shayla cheered me right up! She brought all my stuff to me with record speed, and it felt like she was actually listening and interested in conversing with me. This place is great, and another shoutout to Shayla (although the other bartenders are great too, I just haven't learned their names yet).“

The service can sometimes be slow so be prepared and don't go when in a huge hurry, but the food is tasty, the servers friendly and the drinks lovely! They do fun holiday cocktails as well which I highly recommend. They are also dog friendly and the workers know our dogs and always come say hi. Love this place.“

As the clouds shrouded the sky, I stumbled into this saloon for shelter from the impending Burning Rain of Death. The rake behind the counter, Garret, kindly offered me a libation to which I vehemently obliged. Before the cold glass met my lips, I was frozen in my chair by the sight of a wicked woman with fiery hair the locals know to be Winnifred. We spoke wildly into the night of spooky dino chickie nuggies, Disney +, Malibu potions, and cauldron maintenance, of course. She lent me her boOooOooOok and I would love nothing more than to return it to her, as it won’t stop staring at me. If you see her, please do let her know I would love to reconnect, and would also take her up on Billy’s number if she’s indeed done with him.“

“Highly recommend for family gatherings! We just had our Baby Shower in their event space & we had an amazing time. All the staff was super friendly, very accommodating and easy to work with & book. The food and drinks were delicious and fast. Our host/waitress was so sweet and fun and great about interacting with everyone at the shower. The kids present were very happy to feed the gators, visit the parrots, and pretty much wander around in between the games. I cannot recommend their services enough and I am beyond happy we chose here for our baby shower.“

“This is a very fun place. The beers and drinks are literally half price than every bar in downtown Sanford. Thus the reason they are always busy and fun. They have touchtunes, a DJ, karaoke on Wednesday, Poker tournaments... and this list goes on. I always end up here as this has become my go-to. The food is a step above dive-bar bar food.“

Open air so smoking is okay if that's your thing. Your drink strength correlates directly to how good of a conversation you can give the bartender.

🍸: I ordered a whiskey sour but got a Jack and Coke from a tipsy bartender on this day. The drink was... okay. But the memory will last a lifetime.

“Tim and Eds’ Park Dive is the local place! Clean and friendly, “dive” is definitely tongue in cheek. Small without being cramped, you are immediately welcomed in like a friend and neighbor. There is a well-tended outside area with plenty of seating and occasional events. Prices are great but eat before you get here ‘cause there is no food. There is a nice selection of domestic a local craft beers and wines (but no liquor). Sports on tv and video games are there for entertainment, but conversation runs easy here and it’s a relaxing time.“

“We stopped in here for HH cocktails and oysters before dining at The Strand. I had the Jaguar’s Nap. If you like mezcal, you’ll love this drink. The oysters were delicious, too. It was a great find.
I also left my very expensive Gucci sunglasses at the table and the server found us after our exit to return them. That was very honorable of him.“
