Andersonville gets a bad rap and yes it was definitely horrible, but most forget that Camp Douglas in Chicago had almost the same death rate in fact more died of exposure and starvation than in Andersonville SO yes the Confederate troops were treated as bad as the Union so let’s all remember and respect
If you like history this is a place you need to go. It’s a reminder of a terrible time in our country. But it is our history. Everyone should learn about the historical moments. We don’t want this time to repeat itself. Education is very important.

Very interesting place. I enjoyed seeing it during the holidays when they had all the wreaths on the graves.
