It was their first weekend back open, drive thru only. Hadn't been in a while. Had the bbq sandwich plate. Pork was kinda dry so added a good bit of sauce to it. Coleslaw was excellent so I put it on my sandwich. The pickles on the slaw were delish!! And the stew is always on point. Hard to find a better stew anywhere! And of course, I had to get a banana pudding. This is REAL nanner pudding & it was still warm!! My daddy made the best & this brought so much comfort remembering...read full review

Coming back to Georgia after living 18 years in Texas, I was looking forward to great Stew, Slaw and Pork, and BBQ Shack, provided just that. Simple place, with limited menu, but what they serve is good. I have tried Stew all around Athens and BBQ Shack is one of the few that does it well. Reminds me of my Childhood.

Decent prices and you get a variety with plates, such as slaw, chips, stew, and plenty of bread. You don't have to wait for them to refill your tea or water, as they leave the pitcher on the table. Great place to take a family or a group.
