“Great food, good service and nice people“

“after dining at south kitchen in celebration of our second anniversary, my partner and i have found ourselves in a nearly catatonic state of euphoria. we can muster up only enough strength to write this review though, because everyone should know how good this place is.
the food and drinks were spectacular, but our service from reece really made the experience unforgettable. if serving is an art, reece is a true virtuoso.
definitely pricey, but if you have a reason to celebrate, south is well worth it. can’t wait until we can come back again!!“

“In February of 2025, Dawg Gone Good BBQ catered a wedding that I coordinated at the UGA Botanical Gardens. The food was AMAZING!! The owner and staff were friendly, professional, and a joy to work with! I’d give 20 stars if I could!! On another note…they have a restaurant in downtown Athens near my husband’s office so it’s very close!! I can go there and get their food often!!“

“It was a to go order and the food was brought to the car . It was warm and delicious . We had a grilled Salmon and a Tbone ( like) steak ! The sides were so Devine I ate my steak the next day . Brussels sprouts were so yummmy I SQUATED to honor them , the French Onion soup made me HOLLER like they were whooping my behind, may be the best I have had ! Give it a try !! My wife & I had a great over appetizer, Mushroom Bruschetta, Caesar Salads & Salmone Al Pistacchio including an Italian Blend … simply outstanding! “We approached Terrapin and noticed a large parking lot, which made things easy. We found a space pretty quickly and walked over to the property. We could see that they had a Día de los Muertos festival going on. We found the main entrance and stepped inside. I was thrown off at first by how empty and quiet it was. The first thing I noticed was a small souvenir shop near the front. We continued to walk in a little farther and found the main bar area with all the taps lined up and the wall covered in signs listing their rotating beer selections. We asked the staff behind the counter if they offered flights. Although they don't do traditional flights, they do have a special where you could choose six 6-ounce pours and you get to keep your choice of Terrapin glassware. Wifey and I each picked three beers each from the rotating menu. We chose everything from a Wheat to a Stout. We scooped our beers and headed out to the outside seating area where the festival was in full swing. As we started sipping our beers, we enjoyed most of our choices and the great weather. Then a few bees started hanging around, and unfortunately, a couple even dove into our beers. I took them back inside, let the staff know what happened, and they replaced them right away with no hesitation. We hung out outside for a little while longer, finished our beers, and enjoyed the weather and festival activities. As we were leaving, I noticed a small stage setup. So I am sure they have live music here as well. Overall, a very good first visit to the Terrapin Brewery in Athens. We will definitely come back to try some other options.“

“The food and service were fantastic! The coffee wasn’t the best, but that isn’t what I went for. The staff is TOP NOTCH! Don’t go by the online menu though; it is completely outdated! I read the menu link on trip advisor when choosing the restaurant and it was very misleading. All in all a 10 out of 10 experience! Would go again!“

We went in thinking it was gonna be casual, okay service, good food, and were met with more than we can handle. Josh went above and beyond from the second we walked into this restaurant. His bright smile, funny humor, and amazing recommendations; make sure you order the Thai chicken tacos! it was hands down one of the best experiences I’ve ever had from being serviced. Truly a nice guy and made the night so special for us. Can’t wait to come back and enjoy the service again!!! Please ask for Josh for a great night!!“
