“I really want to give this Kura a high rating, because... it's Kura! Kura is an actual Japanese chain of conveyor sushi restaurants that is worldwide. The quality and flavor is the same as the locations I have visited in Japan.

In Japan, Kura is very touristy now and known for being the lower quality of all of the larger conveyor sushi restaurants, in comparison to Sushiro and the growing Hama Sushi. However, we only have Kura in the area, so I have to celebrate even having the option in Buford, GA.

The main issue here is not the locations fault, the supply chain has been suffering, so many menu items are missing or sold out. Even when they have special promotions, some of those items that customers drive from miles away are missing. Also, depending on the time of day and who is working, food quality can be hit or miss. Not consistent.
That is why I try to visit during hours when I think there would be a manager on duty, like weekends for lunch.

What makes Kura special?
1. Vibe - the vibe, sounds, and experience is exactly the same as Japan. Except the prices are about 5x higher because we are in the US.
2. You can get half rolls, to try more and they are currently about $3.70/plate. Compared to a local restaurant that would charge about $14/roll = $7 half plate.
3. Gyudon and Beef udon - taste and flavor are same quality and delicious as Japan.
4. Seasonal promotions - This is something that Japan does well and the US does not, which is exciting promotions based on seasonal cusines with fresh ingredients in season. Not only is it great for marketing, but it is exciting to see what's new.

There are some items here that are just not worth the money, like $4 cup of soda, or overpriced shrimp tempura.“
