“Sub Base, in the early 90s, was the absolute best sandwich you could get. Fresh baked bread piled high with all the "fixings". It's been a long time since I had the opportunity to re-visit the place (35 years) and I gotta say... DAMN IF They Don't STILL HAVE A GREAT SANDWICH!! The current owners, for the last 14 years, Not only kept the Sammy the best but they added Dandy Donuts. AND THEY ARE KILLER TOO! Hot and fresh just like the sandwiches. I ended up trying a variety of things. The portions are huge and will last you several days. The pastries themselves are definitely authentically Greek (I am European and I’ve been there multiple times), and they are light, moist, and flavorful. I give this place my fullest recommendation.“

The biggest opportunity is the sandwich service. I come here weekly and roughly 30-40% of the time, the person making the sandwich either starts putting things on that I didn’t ask for or tells me to go to the cashier and they’ll bring me my sandwich and then they get something wrong (like mustard instead of mayo). Please just ask us what we want on our sandwich and don’t assume.“

The design was stunning and really stood out, but the real surprise was inside — layers of rich dulce de leche and fresh raspberry filling that created the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Every bite was a celebration on its own. Truly unforgettable! The restaurant staff at Marcel steakhouse said that it was the most beautiful cake they've ever seen, and we shared it with them. I chose the Black Forest Cake, nested in the corner of one of the fridges among the stacks of goodies in this packed bakery. After wanting a Black Forest for so long, this hit the spot. What stunning, perfectly sized pieces of cake this place offers! The whipped topping pairs perfectly with the denser cream layers near the bottom in the Black Forest, and separating the layers of cream sits a light, moist chocolate sponge that ties this dessert together into a delectable sweet treat.

For $3.50 per slice (keep in mind, still, a slice here is smaller than that a typical bakery’s slice - yet filling, nonetheless), I would definitely recommend visiting!“

“Very soft rotis, specially their whole wheat roti with olive oil. The rotis are always fresh, prepared on the same day and they stay fresh for quite a long time if stored in fridge. While reheating as well they are still soft if stored properly in fridge. I didn’t try their delivery service because I usually prefer picking them up myself. They close at 7:30pm which I felt is pretty early.“

“I’m typically not a big fan of donuts, but The Salty has both a beautiful ambiance and the best donut I’ve had, the Brown Butter & Salt! Plus, their coffee is actually fantastic (and I recommend dunking one of the donuts in their coffee for the full experience).

Not to mention, both Krog Street and The Beltline are right outside. It makes for such a beautiful start to the day - breakfast and a walk down an aesthetic, very safe stretch of the Beltline!“

“I absolutely love sweet hut! Their variety of buns is extensive and they are all delicious! I'm not a huge fan of boba all though it is known for that and I hear it's delicious, my favorite is the lychee slush and pretty much any of their buns. I tried the new Cromboloni in Chocolate and I highly recommend--absolutely delicious and it brings me back to nutella crepes in paris. Definitely always recommend sweet hut and check out their new crombolonis for sure.“
