WE live in Highlands, NC but our kids live in GA. It is a wonderful drive there and back, but we always plan our trip with a lunch stop in Clarkesville, at the Attic Restaurant. Exposed brick walls, a nice bar and ALWAYS fresh foods: I almost always get special soup. We dine inside, but outside is lovely too! Friendly staff serving great food in a historic building. When in the area, The Attic will be our "go to" restaurant.

The Attic offers a delightful dining experience with a wonderful ambiance and atmosphere, allowing customers to enjoy meals under the covered patio, even in rainy weather. The menu features a variety of options, including a fantastic grilled Caesar salad with chicken, delectable coconut shrimp, and the Bourbon New York Strip Steak, which comes with a wonderful bourbon glaze and sides of asparagus and red skinned potatoes. Customers have praised the service, highlighting the attentive and personable staff who are always willing to accommodate special requests. The Rustic conversion from a vintage gas station to restaurant is loved. Although the food may take some time to arrive, the overall experience is highly recommended. Many diners find The Attic to be a hidden treasure, and the quality, portion size, and taste of the food make the prices worth it. Even during storms, the staff has shown outstanding service, ensuring guests are comfortable and well taken care of. The Korean Chicken and pasta dishes were delicious. Eggs Benedict was quite good.
