Kochi Maru Reviews
Food was good! Would recommend and return.
The food is good. The service not so good. We were in town for a show and wanted lamb skewer. The server was the only person working the floor. She seemed more interested in her Ipad show. The food is very good. When she brought the food out she left. There were three of us and no extra plates. Not sure how you share without plates. We ate dinner and lunch the next day and had to ask for plates again! We spent a lot of money. She did not say thanks or bye. We speak...read full review

Kochi Maru is a restaurant that offers authentic and flavorful food, with a unique atmosphere. The decor is eclectic, featuring cartoon figures and outdated furniture, but the food is the real highlight. The restaurant serves a variety of skewers, including beef, lamb, pork, and chicken, at a reasonable price of $18 for 10 pieces. While the quality of the meat can be inconsistent, with some pieces being tender and others tough, the spice and flavor are generally good. The food taste is good, but the portions can feel small for the price, with some dishes like a mixing chicken skeleton costing around $16—similar to the price of a whole roast chicken. The restaurant's grilling experience is a major draw, and the guobarou and beef and pork belly skewers are particularly popular. Customers have enjoyed the cold noodles with pickled veggies for a refreshing taste and the great drink options like fruity soju and honey pomelo tea. The service can be hit-or-miss, with some servers being inattentive while others are friendly. With a little improvement in service, Kochi Maru has the potential to be a great spot for a night out, especially for groups with big tables and private rooms.
