Cartecay Vineyards Wineries • $$
5704 Clear Creek Rd, Ellijay

“Made a quick stop and tried a flight of their wines. Staff was friendly. Love the atmosphere. Was a very cold day and sitting by the fire was relaxing.

Tried a sampling of whites wines. I’m not a big wine person so take this with a grain of salt… they tasted great but were all on the sweet side.

Definitely worth stopping in and checking Cartecay out.“

Engelheim Vineyards Wineries • $$

“We recently took our friends to spend an afternoon at Engelheim Vineyards. Everything was wonderful - nice wines, yummy British pies, charcuterie, beautiful scenery, and relaxing live music. The place is family owned and the owners are attentive and engaging. We went to see the wedding venue there and it is lovely! We highly recommend this vineyard in Ellijay!“

Roo Mountain Vineyards and Bistro - 21+ ONLY Wineries •
1497 Old Flat Branch Rd, Ellijay

“If you're awed by presentation, prepare yourself! From the beautiful drive into the property, the view, the architecture and the attention to detail of each plate - there's no reason to look further than this treasure. Everyone is very welcoming and they make you feel right at home. We opted for a white wine flight and headed to the patio, taking in the view of the valley below us framed by layers of mountains beyond. The wine sampling helped us decide on a bottle to enjoy with our meal. Our servers, Hali and Wendy were a joy. Highly attentive yet allowing ample time for us to be uninterrupted. We started with the Peach and Grilled Watermelon Burrata salad which was incredibly unique and far more than enough for two. Delivery of our entrees was perfectly timed and they looked amazing. I opted for the Braised Short Rib, while my wife enjoyed a house made Spaghettoni with locally sourced mushrooms in an Alfredo sauce. A side of tender, roasted Brussels sprouts rounded things out. All so delicious! The Roost at Roo is off to a fantastic start, bringing fairly priced gourmet dining to a relaxing and stunning location. Added bonus - no kids, dogs welcome. Enjoy!“
