However the server we had did not do such a good job. She took our drink order and seemed to be bothered that she had to help us so. She was ghost for about 45 minutes and didn't come back to check on the table. We had to get another server which I knew from another restaurant and she was very good. “Spontaneous dinner out to Consuelo's on the Gainesville Square. Second visit there. (I now regret not visiting more often....) Atmosphere is very chill and relaxing. Comments from my family: It feels like you're transported away, like a upscale restaurant in Manhattan with authentic food from Mexico. Nothing in Gainesville looks and feels like this.

Decor is well-thought out from the blue tile on the bar to the blue mural on the wall and the casual sitting area up front by the window. Seats are very comfortable. Straw light fixtures, modern wooden wall panels, real wood tables. Even the water glasses feel authentically curated. The front during the day is open and airy; the back is a little bit more subdued. My designer daughter would've liked a little more of the blue placed in the back as well for balance but she felt transported as well.

Service was spectacular--thank you very much Andres (our waiter)! The other staff members were full of welcoming smiles as well. Andres was very well-informed on the background of the restaurant and the menu choices. The shrimp empanadas were a definite treat as was the guacamole with homemade chips. You'll not get a tasteless mush here!

Cocktails were just as memorable the second time as they were on the first go around. My usual rule is that if I can't see the beach, I won't order a mojito. That rule no longer holds true. The cucumber mojito tastes fresh and delicious and almost healthy! The spicy paloma was my favorite; the in-house serrano infused tequila makes it extra special.

Can't go wrong with any of the entree choices (although the steak could've been thicker, just for presentation's sake). Tacos, huarache, enchiladas--all delicious! We even got our waiter's favorite--tacos with bacon and chorizo and cheese! He didn't steer us wrong there.

The cheesecake and charcoal ice cream with raspberry sauce were a perfect finish to a delightful dinner out.

We especially appreciate the menu with vegan and vegetarian designations and the drink menu with non-alcoholic options since eating out with friends who may not eat/drink as we do can be very challenging in Gainesville. We now have a place where everyone can find what they need in a warm and inviting way.

“Come here for the home made corn tortilla tacos. Burritos are good as well. This taco shop is part of the gas station. There are few cafeteria style seating available and few outdoor tables. $3.75 for steak tacos comes with onions and cilantro the way it should be. The green and red salsa are tasty as well. The only downside is that the experience is not what you get in a dine in restaurant. The food court has about three tables located to the rear of the Chevron service station.

Parking: You may not be able to park in front of the store front at all times because of the very limited parking, plus the other adjacent businesses make access a inconvenient. Very busy lot.“

If you're in the Oakwood area and craving some Birria Tacos, TIO LOCO is worth a visit! This nice little spot is tucked off to the side of the BP gas station on Hwy 53 (beside the COOKOUT), right off 985. The address might say Gainesville, but for me, this is Oakwood.

The Birria Tacos here are solid—juicy, flavorful, and sure to satisfy your taco cravings. They of course have your other menu items that you may want to check out, but I've been on a birria kick for a while now ? It's definitely a spot to check out if you’re nearby!

“I was told this restaurant had good tacos. My sister and I stopped by for lunch. We ordered Tacos, and nachos. They were really good. I was talking to the daughter of the owner about the enchiladas and she made me one to try. The tortillas are all freshly made. This is a great family run restaurant. Not fancy but clean and the ladies are very nice. You order at the counter and pick your food up when ready. We will definitely return! Please support family run businesses. They put their heart and soul into them.“

Ordered a plate of nachos for me and my daughter, which was delicious and a bowl of cheese dip which was great, but the large cheese dip costs $13.75 . Lol. I will never order the large again. It's basically the same price as my entire meal, which was $14.25 . I was expecting $8 maybe $9 for the dip, but I guess I should've actually looked at the menu.... “I don't dine in, but occasionally order from Doordash. I've always ordered High Life with some additions, and the burritos were always as big as my arm! I'm sad I don't see the specialty burrito in the Doordash options anymore, but it could be different. I haven't ordered from them for several months but ordered the Carne Asada today and it was really good and flavorful, and the burrito was not lacking in their protein at all. I plan on adding extras next time for an even heftier boy, since this was ordered as-is. The price can be a little high but I think it's worth it, especially as an occasional treat for myself.“
