“Great food!! Was my first time having Nigerian cuisine, and this restaurant really sets the tone. The owner was incredibly helpful with my food choices. Took time to help me understand exactly how each item was prepared. I will definitely be returning.“
“First time in this restaurant and I recommend it 100%. The food was amazing. We ordered the peanut butter stew and the Lamb Chebb and the flavors were mind blowing. Mary was awesome and a sweetheart. I will definitely be coming back next time I visit ATL.“
“Makay Chopbar catered my wedding last weekend and everything was a hit! Our menu included jollof with veggies, spring rolls, plantains, meatpies, grilled chicken, tomato goat stew, beef suya, and egusi! We barely had leftovers and all the guests raved how flavorful, tender, hot, and delicious the food was to honor my husband’s culture. It was a joy to see folks who never had this food going back for seconds and even grabbing to-go containers. The communication was impeccable and the chef accommodated special requests for food preparation to use traditional ingredients. The team arrived on time, created a lovely display, and the servers were so friendly. They also cleaned the area very well before departing.Next time we’re in town we’ll definitely order food and even try the their shipping option to VA! Paul runs a honest and affordable catering business. We greatly appreciate the entire staff for making our wedding day extra special!“
“Now I’m not one to make many reviews on food but this place deserves the most positive review possible. The lady that worked there was so nice and friendly and very patient when it came to order placing. She didn’t hesitate explaining the food to you and the food was made fresh to order. I’ve had a few west African meals in the area but this place tops them all. Delicious flavor, fresh and made to order and it’s the best prices I’ve seen in town with great portion sizes. I will definitely go back soon and I recommend you check them out ASAP“
“I'm Pregnant And Was Craving Cassava Leaf All Night. I Went To Get Some Lawd Have Mercy It Soo Good And The Portion Size Is Worth Every Dime. Tried FuFu For The First Time And I'm Hooked Thank Y'all I Will Be Back For More ❤️“
“Excellent food and service from Makay African Kitchen. Food was delivered on time, and definitely good value for the money. Delicious dishes all around. What can I say about those yam balls? Delicious! Thanks Paulus, more orders coming your way.“
“Great customer service made ordering very easy. The beef and shrimp fried rice was so delicious and adding the shito to this dish really topped it off. I had to try the okra stew with banku, and again I was not disappointed!! They have me as a customer that will keep returning. Just wow!“
“The food is sooooooo good!! All the dishes are authentic and flavorful. You can’t go wrong no matter what you order. The eguisi is AMAZING!! And the service is outstanding! Definitely recommend this place to curb your cravings for traditional African food!“
“The food was quite tasty and the portions large. My first time having Gambianian food. I would have liked a medium or small serving option. We could not finish and as we were in a hotel did not have the capacity to store the leftovers and had to discard. (Dinner for 4 $80 we threw away at least $25 to $30.)The space, dining and serving area needs to be renovated to make more inviting.“
“This is my first time trying Arican food so I really didn't know what to get.. My husband facetime me and the lady that helped him was really nice and helpful The price was really reasonable.. I'm not sure the name of the dish she recommended. But I do love the beef inside of it. The flavors are not overpowering. I definitely will go again and try something else next time.“
“Forgive me for not taking a before picture. The lady at the counter was very nice. Small shop in a plaza. isn’t the best plaza. Unique smell inside. Delighted to see a good food option in the plaza. I ordered the grilled lamb, lamb wrap, and fried rice/Benechin/Thieb. Rice was the best but I like it better when there are vegetables in it. The lamb meat was fatty in it. I ate all of the rice. My lamb wrap wasn’t the best because the meat inside was over cooked and had a little off taste. It was poorly wrapped, I couldn’t finish it. The grilled lamb had good flavor along with those awesome onions on top. A lot of the meat was chewy and inedible which was a bummer. This is my second time eating from here and I wanted to like it more as it is closer to me than the restaurant I usually go to for this type of food. They are fair priced. Wanted to try the Snapper. The meat pies didn’t look filled so I didn’t order one. I can’t say that I am converted.Parking: Plaza needs updating and uplifting. Plenty parking everywhere. You can park upside down it’s so much space“
“This is by far my favorite choice for African food in Atlanta. I usually order take out as the establishment itself does not offer much seating space and is a little less desirable to the eye. However, this is an example of not judging a book by its cover because the food is delicious!“
“For the first time I've tried something new this was absolutely amazing the service and food is on point not to mention they play some amazing up tempo music. If your in the Atlanta area come by and check them out in Forest ParkParking: Parks are right up front“
