“Best chips and salsa ever!! I have not had anything on the menu I did not like. My favorite is the papusas. Service is always friendly. Keep in mind they prepare your dish fresh when you order. It takes a little time. No premade assembly line here.“

“Have you ever tried traditional Nicaraguan food? ?? This was a first for me but I absolutely loved it! @gallopinto.ga is located across from Poor Richard’s off Cleveland Highway and is owned by a local family who was kind enough to invite me into their space and let me try their favorite dishes. If you are wanting to sample their menu, I highly recommend getting the Caballo Bayo. They have a 2 person or 4 person option and it comes with a little bit of everything! There is fried cheese, chicharrones, sausage, Churrasco steak, chicken, eggs, fried plantains, sweet plantains, and so much more. You can’t forget to order the Fresco de Cacao! They import fresh cacao beans from Nicaragua and grind them up with milk to make their Fresco and it is unlike anything I’ve ever had.“

“I love Saturdays at Eat More Empanadas! The soup (Sancocho de res) is to die for! So flavorful and delicious! I just wish they had it more frequently! The paballon was also amazing although I prefer mine with no sauce. Very authentic Venezuelan street food!“

Cheese Papusa

“This place has a special place in my heart. Back when I used to go to Gainesville college (before it became UNG), my friends and I would come here for their pupusas. For just $8 bucks (back then) or less, it would be enough to fill us for the day. I came when it first opened and the interior is still the same. It's dark and not a place I would say cozy. The only thing on their menu that I always come back and back again is their tamales. It's different than the regular tamales that you're used to. It's made out of potatoes instead of corn so the texture is soft and melts in your mouth. Their seasoning is just right; actually, it's perfect in my opinion. Since my UNG/Gainesville day, I have moved to Cali and have tried high and low, near and far, all the Salvadorian places I can find. No places tamales match this place. Every time I come home to GA for a visit, I would always make sure to stop by. I had their pupusas and tacos before but it's been awhile. I remember them tasting pretty good. Maybe I should order some next time. Their melon drink is the best. Not too sweet, not too strong in melon flavor. Its honestly perfect in my option.“
