The restaurant was clean and you could smell the food as soon as you walked in. They even gave me a free mango lassi to try. “My first time visiting this establishment was during week one of a 21 day fast. With it being my first time and only eating fruits and vegetables, I felt extremely supported when this beautifully spirited lady that smiled with her heart patiently listened as I carefully chose my base and toppings then called my fast out by name (the Daniel fast) and wished me luck before I left.

“Mokhaport is a coffee shop featuring Ethiopian and Yemini coffee and teas. They also offer smoothies and food items with a sizable quantity of Halal, Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Soy-Free offerings. The majority of their food is made in-house. Mokhaport has an intimate seating area with Wifi and a generous number of electrical outlets. Mokaport has some of the best customer service for a coffee shop. The owner is friendly and willing to answer questions and provide recommendations regarding the menu offerings. You are actually provided a sample of your coffee/tea item before it is finalized. My go-to drink is the Dirty Adani (Sweet Yemini Chai with a shot of coffee) with brown sugar and oat milk. Pro tip: save your receipt via text, which makes it easier to duplicate your beverage order once you have found the perfect drink. I visit this coffee shop every time I am in the area, as the coffees, teas, and service are impeccable. I am looking forward to trying the smoothies, cheesecake, and some of the savory food products like the beef patty and cheese pastry.“

LanZhou Ramen was an excellent dining experience overall, and even with a few areas that could be improved, I still think it deserves 5 out of 5 stars. The food was flavorful, comforting, and satisfying, and the restaurant delivered the kind of meal that feels both authentic and memorable. It is the type of place that may not be perfect in every small detail, but the strengths are strong enough that the overall experience still stands out.

The best part of the meal was definitely the noodles. They had a great texture: chewy, fresh, and satisfying without being too soft or overcooked. A good bowl of Lanzhou-style noodles depends heavily on the noodle quality, and this restaurant did a very good job with that. The noodles had enough firmness and elasticity to make each bite enjoyable, and they paired well with the broth and toppings.

The broth was also very enjoyable. It had a clean, savory flavor that was warm and comforting. It was not overly heavy, which I appreciated, but I do think it could have used a little more depth and complexity. A slightly richer broth or stronger seasoning would have made it even better. That being said, the flavor was still very good, and it worked well with the noodles. It felt like a bowl of food that was simple in a good way, but still carefully prepared.

The meat and toppings were solid as well. The beef was flavorful and helped complete the dish, although I would have liked a slightly more generous portion. The vegetables and garnishes added freshness, and everything came together nicely. Nothing felt out of place, but a few small improvements in portion size or presentation could make the bowl even more impressive.

The atmosphere was casual and comfortable. It is not necessarily a fancy restaurant, but it does not need to be. The focus is clearly on the food, and that is where LanZhou Ramen succeeds. The service was efficient and polite, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The experience felt straightforward, relaxed, and easy to enjoy.

My main criticisms are minor but worth mentioning. The broth could have been slightly more layered, the meat portion could have been more generous, and the overall presentation could be a little more polished. However, none of these issues took away from the fact that the meal was genuinely enjoyable. In many ways, the simplicity of the food is part of its appeal.

Overall, LanZhou Ramen is a place I would gladly recommend. The noodles were excellent, the broth was comforting, the food felt fresh, and the meal was satisfying from beginning to end. Even though there are small areas for improvement, the overall quality and enjoyment of the experience easily justify a 5-star rating.

It was a Friday night and we didn’t need a reservation. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The chef even came from the kitchen to check on everybody dining in the establishment. I highly recommend the fried shrimp, fried Lobster, cheese grits, the Mac & cheese, fried chicken entree, the appetizer chicken wings. and all of the salad options. The food will take some time to come, but that is because everything is prepared fresh so greatness takes time and it is well worth the wait. Trust me. “I was with a group of four. Everyone ordered something different. I ordered the fish & chips. I received two pieces of heavily battered & fried white fish. One piece of fish I could barely cut. The other no problem. I probably should have said something to the waitress but I didn’t want to start over. The fries were nothing special. Overall for bar type food it was subpar.

We had boiled peanuts for a starter. They were way overcooked.
