“The Hatter Cafe was such a nice surprise and wonderful experience when my Boyfriend and I came to Mentone for a quick weekend getaway. We stopped at the gift shop and had a chat with the owner, ordered 2 loaves of their fresh delicious bread, and came back for dinner at the café. It was amazing and the service was top notch! “Stopped in at The Great Awakening for a coffee fix and oh man it was worth every bit of the drive! I tried the Campfire (my new favorite), along with the Sea Turtle, Honey Badger, and the Ansley. I’m a sucker for espresso, so of course I added an extra shot (don’t judge lol).

The ladies inside were amazing greeted me with warm smiles right when I walked in. I also want to shout out Jordan, who went above and beyond. Since I have a broken foot, she offered to bring my order out to my car. That kind of customer service is rare and so appreciated!

The coffee itself? Absolutely delicious. Plus, they offer a variety of milk options so you can order exactly to your liking.

“I was at Jefferson tonight 3/14/26 dude! They were so busy! But man! The workers kicked butt! And that host was so sweet and we understood they were busy, Kimberly Rowland and her husband were some jokes, screamed at this young lady doing her job. Have some decency and respect in a restaurant. Host, cooks, and waitresses are not slaves. They are people with feelings, grown woman and a grown man degrading this young lady. Shame. Ither than the disrespect and disruptive Rowland family it was a pleasant experience”

“By far the best Waffle House location I’ve been to and I’ve been to a lot of Waffle Houses. They have great service and management. Eric, who I think is the manager, is an excellent cook. My food is always perfect. Amanda is a great waitress. I always ask for her section. I highly recommend this Waffle House location.”
