“My three friends and I were meandering back towards home and decided to have breakfast at the Country Store. This building was the original one built by Callaway when he created Callaway Gardens. We sat near the window which provided a lovely view of the fall foliage. Our wait staff Margaret was very sweet and helpful and got our order perfect, then continued checking on us throughout our meal. More, because a few of us like a little bit of coffee with our sugar, she brought us a bowl of sugar, which kept us from having to open a million tiny packets. This of course makes her my personal favorite. Breakfast was simple; French toast and fruits, scrambled eggs and grits, country ham and eggs, and bacon and eggs. It was all cooked perfectly and quickly, and served nice and hot. More so, it didn't break the bank. Pricing is very reasonable. We also enjoyed the store itself and made a few purchases prior to leaving. I just adore places like this and will definitely be back again.“

“Went two days in a row and had totally different experiences. Went a Friday morning with short wait, exceptional service, I think her name was Kelly, and the food was fantastic. We were excited about going back Saturday morning and had already decided what we were ordering and looking forward to coffee to start. People were standing around waiting everywhere and they said the wait would be close to an hour. There were empty tables everywhere and one section was totally empty. When we asked why we were told it was a kitchen backup problem. We could have accepted that if we could have sat down and at least had some coffee but were told there were other places in Pine Mountain. We went to a breakfast buffet but it was just food to eat and nothing special except the service was wonderful. As busy as they were they cleaned tables and got people seated as fast as possible.“

“Had the lunch buffet and dessert. The fried chicken is real good, turnip greens and cornbread muffins. The seven layer chocolate cake and caramel cake with vanilla ice cream. The desserts are legendary. Hospitality is excellent we will be back.

“Beautiful view of lake and sunset from the porch- perfect for romantic evening or special occasion. Food is excellent, service attentive and friendly. My family has celebrated many occasions there over the years but eat dinner there often as well.“

“All of the staff that we encountered was friendly and accommodating. They were not overly busy this evening as it was just our table of two and a large table of maybe 20. The table of 20, of course was very happy to visit with each other and they gave the dining room some noise and activity that normally would not have been there. My husband ordered the pasta with shrimp and he was very pleased with it. I ordered the sweet tea chicken and the flavor was interesting and tasty. The flourless chocolate cake was a delicious treat. I liked it!“
