The Crab Trap Reviews
Absolutely horrible service, food, ok. Service is absolutely horrible whe we were told
1- share plates
2- take the empty plates and his response—- leave it and buss boy will get it.
3- charges 3% for cash… took 45 min for the manger
To get us a refund.
Manager was good and respectful. Place is a no go
Hostesses were unfriendly. Prices were high compared to Crabdaddy’s that we ate at night before. Waitress never came back to check on us after we got our food to let her know my baked potato was rotten inside.
The crab legs were the worst I’ve ever eaten. The shells were soft and wouldn’t crack properly. The meat inside would not pull out and flaked apart. Very frustrating! Also the coleslaw was terrible and only 1 choice for dessert. Needless to say, my husband and I won’t be back.

The Crab Trap, a casual dining spot on Jekyll and St. Simons, offers a relaxed and inviting atmosphere with a coastal charm reminiscent of classic seafood restaurants. The menu features a decent variety of dishes, including fresh seafood options that cater well to seafood lovers. One standout dish is the crab soup, which has been called the best by many customers. While not every dish is a culinary masterpiece, the flavors are generally satisfying, and the food is cooked very well. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that customers' needs are promptly addressed. Parking can be limited, but the pleasant atmosphere, decent food, and good service make The Crab Trap a worthwhile dining option for those looking for a relaxed meal with friends or family. It is a place that feels like a throwback to the 70s, filled with figurines and nautical items, creating a unique dining experience.
