“This is a great place for good food. The manager is fantastic and seems to do well with her staff. I've gone for a while now at least twice a month. The food has always been fresh, even when they're busy they are very efficient. Shelia is great as well. Everyone there is great, I just don't know all the names.
Great place, highly recommend and I hope the corporate office reads this and any employee there should bring this to their next review to remind them how a well run store and great people get results.“

“First time at a Waffle House and I can't complain! Typical chain breakfast fair, I got the Texas cheese steak melt with some loaded up hashbrowns (looked up how to order em on reddit lol) and overall I enjoyed it! Comparative to a Dennys or IHOP, I think I'd def visit another one in the near future.

“Every event we have been to at City Springs has been a great experience. On Saturday, 12/10 as part of day, the World Cup afternoon broadcast sounded like such a great time. Our family was excited about this outdoor venue. Sadly, their were several technical difficulties and the entire game ended up in Spanish. Most of the crowd was watching on their cell phones. The broadcast totally cut out in the last 5 minutes of the game. As weather permits, this is a great idea, but in the future, testing beforehand would certainly help.“

“Breakfast is AMAZING in this restaurant. The restaurant serves delicious shrimp and grits, salmon croquettes, and grits. LARGE fried lobster tails in a martini glass. They also highlight the generous portions, unmatched flavors, and relaxing atmosphere with good music.

I am calling people to take me out just to go back.

Only draw back was the 18% gratuity automatically charged to you, then tax and then requested a tip for the servers. Then if you use a credit card you are also charged a fee.

“We had such a great time at this brunch spot that we were eager to explore another location! Hen Mother Cookhouse offers a truly unique, friendly, and spacious dining experience.

First off, the Alpharetta location is much larger than the Johns Creek one. According to the sign, it started in 2018, long before the pandemic, and right when downtown revitalization was all the rage. We were absolutely captivated by the renovated house with its enormous heated patio—it was amazing! The star of the patio was the flooring, made from all-weather material. The lunch noise level was pleasant, so you didn’t have to shout.

The service was nice, but it felt a bit distant. Our server was constantly moving between the patio and the inside. Some might think his attention was slow, but we were fine with the pace.

The owner was there on this day and was very friendly with the regulars. She smiled at us, but her request was quite demanding, like booking a Swift concert.

As always, the food is the highlight. I got the Caesar salad with a fried chicken thigh, and my wife had pancakes and bacon. My salad was delicious, and the brined fried chicken on top was fantastic. However, the two pancakes were huge, the size of two frisbees—yes, both in circumference and depth. The flavor was still like an old-fashioned house pancake, but the size was overwhelming. Just imagine a skillet cornbread popping out as a pancake that took 20 minutes to cook—I wouldn’t recommend it. The bacon was good, but I think you should offer Waffles and Bacon instead of just Chicken and Waffles, as not everyone enjoys that combination. Also, the owner charged me $0.65 for a side Caesar dressing—come on, really?

Even though I wouldn’t say I’d “simply” recommend Hen Mother Cookhouse for the food, I’d definitely suggest it for the experience. The menu is gourmet and definitely worth checking out. But, to be honest, the food is good, but the prices are a bit steep; it took me two visits to decide. We spent $55 on two pancakes, bacon, and a Caesar salad, and that’s without drinks. I really love the history and her story—chef to owner—but not allowing any flexibility with your menu is subtle arrogance and sadly you’re paying for “Lululemon when Costco sells the same leggings!” With that said, Oy!, J Christopher, Snooze, Flying Biscuit, and First Watch are still my top 5.“

The atmosphere of the place, from the jump, is awesome. The staff, beyond perfect. Our waiter was perfect. Our entire experience was perfect. The grits - to cry for. The biscuits - perfect. The pancakes - delisious. Literally everything about this place was right on the money. We suggest it to anyone swinging through Alpharetta area. It will not let you down!“

“I make a mean biscuits and gravy but this place far exceeds mine! The biscuits are obviously home made and the gravy is amazing! It's a HUGE portion. The crispy bacon was actually crispy and this was a delivery. The cheese grits were also delicious!“

The avocado is chunky and nicely seasoned with salt and served with a lemon wedge. The grits at First Watch are my favorite - thick, creamy and not runny. The atmosphere is nice and there are two bathrooms, which are clean and bright. … Singles are treated with same amount of attention as couples and families - and, although there is a bar area, they are fine with me sitting at a table. “Seriously the best cupcake I've had in San Antonio. It's not absurdly sweet and the flavor is strong and balanced. The frosting does not leave a film at the roof of the mouth like conventional cupcakes do. So worth it and great for those with dairy and egg allergies because it's vegan!“
