“I didn’t make a pilgrimage to Mecca or Medina, but I did visit the Dwarf House — the original Chick-fil-A — which may be the closest thing America has to a sacred chicken shrine.

Standing there, I honestly felt like I should have taken my shoes off before entering. This is hallowed ground: the birthplace of the chicken sandwich covenant, where Truett Cathy first revealed to the world that chicken, pickles, pressure frying, and exceptional politeness could become a global movement.

The Dwarf House is part restaurant, part museum, part Southern fast-food Vatican, and part fever dream for anyone who has ever wondered, “What if Chick-fil-A had lore?” The service was exactly what you’d expect: fast, friendly, and so aggressively polite that I briefly questioned whether I was spiritually prepared to order.

The food was excellent, the experience was memorable, and the whole place has a weirdly wholesome historical gravity to it. Five stars. I did not complete the Hajj, but I did see where the chicken covenant began.“

“I saw this on TikTok and I had to come. I saved it for a later time and when I was in the area, I went ahead and came by. I was not disappointed the strawberry and lime drink was awesome.
Had two tacos of El Pastor, which is your signature taco that sells the most it was great best tasting one I’ve tasted so far the Carne Asada was not so good.
There was plenty of TVs the outside atmosphere is awesome. It’s a nice little area next to a 76 gas station next to a Walgreens love the area. I’m sure this is popping during the weekend.“

“My husband and I just had lunch at the Buford location and what a hidden gem!!! The people were very friendly and the food was amazing! I’ve never had this type of fare before but oh my goodness! It was sooo good! We had a pollo empanada that was unlike any I’ve had before and a plantain dish I cannot remember the name of but it is probably my new favorite food so I need to figure it out 🤣 My husband had a ham and cheese croissant sandwich and inhaled it before I could even ask if he liked it. They’re very fast, very clean, very nice and the food is delicious! Do yourself a favor and check them out!“

“This is easily one of my favorite burgers in Atlanta. The burger is always perfectly cooked. I love the onions that it's served with. The double with cheese melts in your mouth and you get this incredible satisfying sauce it's served with and a little kick at the end of spice. The pickles complete the entire taste with that hint of tang. I love it and can't wait to come again!!!“

Placed the order, was talking to the phone and about to sit down, and my order was ready. Lol The burger was decent and meaty, thank god, not like that fake McD stuff, and the bun was chewy but not in a bad way. Onions ring was a bit salty. The tables were clean and the whole restaurant is pretty clean.. Honestly, it’s a great, air-conditioned refuge from the brutal Georgia heat—which might explain why the service was a little cool and mild too, lol 🤭. Got through and ordered 3 more lol.

“The only reason I don't give five stars for the food, is, like most places, you have the plastic problem contributing to plastic pollution, and I haven't found anything saying they only use suppliers certified as maintaining high humane livestock welfare standards. Unfortunate that they don't have a company rating because of that, because as far as quality and flavor, the food is great.“

“Glad to have found this healthier fast food option in downtown Atlanta. I purchased the chipotle mango avocado bowl with a half and half base. My order was ready before I finished paying. It was delicious and there was a generous amount of food within the bowl! So gusto! is now on my list of places to eat whenever I'm in Atlanta.“

“First time time eating at Shake Shack. $45 later, full but not satisfied. Chris ordered a regular Shack burger and I tried out the new Korean burger and we shared the Korean fries. There could've been more seasoning on the patties (loved that it was a smash burger though), the 'Korean' sauces for the burger and fries lacked flavor. We did not get a milkshake (lactose intolerant) but we might come back just to give it another try.“

“OMG! Oh K-Dog Doraville was more than okay they are AMAZING! I just so happened to be in the area and wanted a Koren corn dog. WOW! Me and my twin girls discovered a whole new world. This hidden gem has many treasures inside.

As we explored the market we saw many TikTok items we wanted to try.. yummy 😋
Downside:
The only negative is the smell, once you get over the fresh meat, seafood smell, you will have an awesome time.

“I love a great Chinatown like in NY or Philly. It would seem that ATL would have a more dedicated neighborhood.

This space is an older plaza. But the mom and pop shops are genuine. The owners are friendly. Visit Maomi Bookstore for writing supplies, tea, and of course, Chinese books. I love pens with a smooth roller feel.

The food in the food court is AMAZING!! Thanks for the freshly roasted duck and chicken in the window display. 1/2 duck = $17. I also got scallion pancakes to die for $4. My lamb noodle bowl with added veggies was filling $16. Patrons knew the great food choices. Hot pot, anyone?

There's also a grocery store in the corner. Love the bakery. Way in back is a gift variety store. Got a cute bonsai for $20.

Parking is free. A rarity in ATL. I did practice my Mandarin. Win all around.“
