“Stopped in at Fishtales for a quick bite to eat before heading to a concert over at Lake Lanier Islands. The food and atmosphere here are always great. The Baja Tacos were good (not really too much heat), and the shrimp and scallop skewers over the cilantro rice were a great special. We highly recommend it.“

The pavlovas are amazing — so fresh, light, and beautifully made. The best part is that they taste delicious without being overly sweet, which makes them feel elegant and balanced instead of heavy. The fruit was fresh, the cream was perfect, and the meringue had the perfect texture. The owner works there herself, and she is absolutely amazing — so warm and welcoming. “This was our first time here. We were traveling and just saw it and went inside . They were packed so we figured the food was good. Wow you weren’t kidding! I ordered tomato soup and shared some of my husband’s chicken parmesan. They brought us delicious garlic bread and served it with some kind of sauce. Food and service was excellent.“

The owner is a welcome import from Europe bringing the knowledge for the cuisine with them. Both owner and wait staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The presentation is excellent and the meal is reasonably priced for the food received. The atmosphere is to my taste extremely pleasant and a little low key that brooks intimacy. If you are looking for variety, there are daily off menu specials for to your benefit made from seasonal ingredients and/or recipes. If you are interested in a libation there’s a complete bar with a number of fine in-house cocktails in addition to champagne, wines and beer available. There are hot drinks including coffee and excellent hot chocolate. Sodas and atypical non alcoholic beverages round out the drink menu. Here, I believe either the Sherry Temple or natural flavored Rieme sparkling water is worth trying. All the Rieme varieties are good but I recommend the pink grapefruit as something unique to enjoy.

The same owner has another excellent sister restaurant in Braselton which specializes in the brunch spectrum of French cuisine and wonderful galletes. You can enjoy one of these for yourself as entree or dessert.
If you have been to Braselton for brunch, you can expect to find some of the same staff members working both venues.

“I was with a group of four. Everyone ordered something different. I ordered the fish & chips. I received two pieces of heavily battered & fried white fish. One piece of fish I could barely cut. The other no problem. I probably should have said something to the waitress but I didn’t want to start over. The fries were nothing special. Overall for bar type food it was subpar.

We had boiled peanuts for a starter. They were way overcooked.

I regret not having anything positive to say about the food. I do like the place. I would just say the food, at least my dish, was disappointing.“

“I have been multiple times and Pearl's Tea do not disappoint! They offer many different flavor combinations and you can pick your boba whether you like the tapioca or popping boba, or both! The strawberries and cream is always great that is a repeat order! Also, my absolute favorite coffee drink is the salted cream coffee (not pictured), I order this everytime I am in the area! It is an absolute perfect balance of salty/sweat/creamy with a strong coffee flavor. I enjoyed their coffee here more than some specifically coffee-based places around! A pretty fancy looking cafe like restaurant with a gorgeous interior. Lots of food options and made to order

I got the ham, egg, and cheese croissant and coffee combo that was very good because of the flaky croissant, even though just the bottom was cold. My partner got the spicy pork panini which came with a salad that was also enjoyable.

Service was great, we were greeted when we entered the building and the ladies up front started on our order as we submitted it on the kiosk.

Atmosphere was the best part. I was very surprised at the look of the inside of this place and hate that I didn't see the amazing seating area that was upstairs. Very comfortable working area with nice decorations!

My kids enjoy the root beer and butter beer - they hope that they’re always on the menu. I like the selection of different types of beers. My only feedback would be that the prices are creeping up and up so much that they’re nearing Taco Mac prices and that place is out of control.“
