“The food is excellent. I eat here very often and you can't find better hummus or falafel anywhere. The steak is tender and better tasting than most steak house's. The Kafta is a surprise. seriously TRY THE KAFTA. Overall one of the best places to eat in Lawrenceville.“

“Never in my thousands of days did I dream I could get a perfectly laminated and baked croissant outside of Europe, NYC, or a specialty bakery, but I did just that 15 minutes ago here. Sorry no photo; I was done savoring every crumb before I even thought about getting out my phone. The care and pride that they have in service and quality here is something you just don’t see today. Honestly, I haven’t seen it in 20 years at most coffee shops, and I was a well-trained barista and cook back then. This place is special. Keep it alive, keep it well funded, and just keep it going! (Literally breathing in the parchment paper my pastry came wrapped in. Mythical.)“

“Not only 100% Halal, the food is flavorful and menu has vast options. We usually grab orders To Go by calling in ahead of time, maybe 30-45min in advance. The kids love to get the Chopped Cheese, Philly Cheesesteak and Smash Burger Combos as they make some delicious fries. The platter lamb & chicken over rice is mouthwatering. I’m just glad I have a great American Halal place near the house and if anyone comes to the house with last minute notice, can grab variety of food from Baba’s.“

“Updated: I went back to try other items such as tiramisu and creme brulee, both look good and tastes good. Esp the creme brulee, was amazing, creamy and decadent. This shop serves very high quality delicious 😋 desserts. This cafe is comfortable and modern with good lighting throughout, nice to relax and chill at.
Previous: Underrated desserts. Favorite is butter pretzel and their chocolate cheesecake is good as well. Nice cafe with pleasant staff.“

“Enjoyed the Matcha. Loved the vibe. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They had whole milk and oat milk. I wish they had cream. But it ended up that I still enjoyed the matcha using milk. Looking forward to coming back. Great place to hang out. Lots of light from the many windows. Comfortable seating. Wifi. Chill music. What more could you want?“

“Outstanding Food and Overall Experience! - Reservation for 8 to celebrate my youngest daughter's birthday (4:30 on a Friday). We almost changed our mind, because we learned my oldest daughter and her hubby had a bad experience at this restaurant in 2021. So glad we gave it another chance. Restaurant is under new management, and it shows! From the greeters at the door with smiles making a first impression, to a personable, attentive server (LeLe), excellent food and engagement by the manager being visible and interacting with guests - it was well worth our time. Total enjoyment! Our group had the snapper, salmon, shrimp & grits, catfish and one vegetarian who made a meal from the sides. Food was beautifully plated and presented and everything was hot & fresh, well seasoned and tasted great. Generous portions too. We also had the bourbon glazed brussels, skillet cornbread and the sticky ribs as appetizers. HIGHLY recommend the brussels and the ribs!! It was the first day testing the ribs, so you may have to ask for them, if they're not on the menu yet. Appreciated the free birthday dessert! If you had a previous bad experience over the last couple of years, you may want to try again. The new manager has the right attitude and a good vision for setting a new standard for The Parkside District. Keep it up! We will definitely visit again. We are glad to recommend the restaurant!“

“Went in for the first time today. Had my little girls with me. We each got something different. One daughter had the Chicken Cesar, the other had a BLT. I had a village burger with chili cheese fries. The food was delicious. The service was excellent with everyone being very polite. If I had to leave one negative about the place I would say the cups ain’t big enough lol.“

“Great spot for a Peruvian meal. Tried the Lomo Saltado a lo pobre and it was delicious. The rice, fries, and plantains were paired well with the steak. Service was quick and friendly, no real complaints. A bit pricy but worth it.
Would recommend for a sit down Peruvian meal and will return again.“

“I have only one complaint and it’s because I can’t get here to eat more often. I worked overnight shifts near this place and i could make it to them before my shift started. Finding a good meal at that time is often difficult. This place is always always the best! They are extremely clean. The owners are super friendly and love to engage with a happy costumer. But above all the food! Best wings in the area for sure. I always get a fried rice and wing combo even though the fish is awesome also. I’m a wing guy. The wings are seasoned perfectly and are a nice size. I try a new flavor or ask them to pick one for me because EVERY THING is good. 2nd best part is they don’t overcharge you. The amount of rice they give with the combo is amazing. I wish I could say more! Just go and see for yourself.“

“Local Republic is one of our favorite downtown Lawrenceville spots. The food is always solid, the burgers are great, and it just has that easygoing atmosphere that makes it a go-to for lunch or dinner. It’s the kind of place you can bring family, meet up with friends, or just grab a casual meal and always feel good about it. Consistently good experience every time we go.
