I'd not be exaggerating to estimate I've been going to different pho restaurants at least once a week for 11 years. This is the very first one where a waiter or staff member has suggested something and said "that's the way we eat it in Vietnam." Our waiter suggested a sauce mixture (the base of which is his homemade recipe) that had my husband saying the two quotes at the beginning of this review. And he added "it's like a Vietnamese holy water, purging the demons from my sinuses" before we left. I'd highly recommend this place. We'll definitely be back - hopefully we'll get more "back in Vietnam" recommendations too! It adds so much to the experience when someone shares their passion and homeland experiences with you - it is obvious food here is cooked with love. “I am very critical of Chinese food. When I moved I tried MANY restaurants and there’s a few key things that places get wrong. The biggest thing is using frozen pot stickers. It’s a shortcut that is a major turn off. China Cafe does them fresh!! I’ve never had a dish I didn’t like.“

They fried their rice differently i don’t know how to explain but it’s very crisp the texture of the rice is top tier not to mention they use seasoning in their food never bland and I am not a big curry fan but when I tell you their curry is the best and only curry I eat! “To start with the positive - The food was excellent in freshness and flavor, the Hot and Sour soup, a very generous serving, was good but a little shy on spicy (hot) and flavor (sour). My biggest concern is when food is not served hot. All the food and soup was piping hot - outstanding! Portions were very generous plenty to take home. Speaking of take home - we like to dine in but everything was served in takeout containers - See photo. Fine when you leave with leftovers but not how I want to be served inside - so know that when you go in. You are expected to clear your own table - not what I want for dine-in. The atmosphere was below average - no problem if your getting it to go.

Before I ordered I was told the credit card system was not working. That was OK I carry enough cash for contingencies. I'm sure that was temporary.

I would highly recommend Friend's House if you are getting it to go but not so much if eating in.“

The menu is creative and diverse in various Asian blends with flavors that feel like around the world. There is clearly thought and passion into every dish I’ve tried. I especially loved their Tonkotsu ramen, Chow Mein, and Beef Bulgogi. The space is cozy and inviting, despite the shop itself being quaint. It is perfect for catching up with friends. As my first experience here, I haven’t had a bad experience with the wait time or the quality of it. The workers are very kind and, they are very social. Coming in I was greeted at the front of the house by Vallie, and with getting a drink she gave a generous amount of recommendations, I am sure the workers have great taste and will be there to help you. With Vallie’s helpful choices and bubbly and inviting hospitality, I ended up getting the Iced Lychee Fruit Tea which was so delicious. By leaving, they had a nice selection of Japanese and asian candys like Hi-chew, my personal favorite! I live in Marrietta visiting Cumming, and it was so great to find such a wonderful business serving with warmth and love. Come to this spot its a major game changer♥️“
