Altman's food is always great. It is some of Coastal Georgia's cuisine at its best! The shrimp, fish and crab are all local and cooked to perfection. The only improvement I could suggest in that department would be about the scallops. They are very small and not all that tender... much like the cheap ones that you could buy at the grocery store. This place is absolutely wonderful. All the servers were nice and helpful despite the restaurant being very busy with great recommendations. We had the hush puppies (amazing, try them with the house pickled garlic vinegar at the table) the crab cake sandwich, and the hwy 17. We just had a quick rest stop from FL to NC when we stopped randomly here for lunch.We tried the buffet and glad we did, the fried chicken tasted very good! Corn on the cob was very good as well..The buffet doesn’t looks the best at first sight, I have to admit, but after eating I was happy and satisfied.
