“We had our first, and way overdue (!!!), time at Gene’s and damn we were we blown away. The food and drinks are second to none - indulgent and fun from apps to drinks to full plates and sides (we ate a lot!) Katie took care of us and she was the best - nailed the recommendations. Our favorites were Bushwacker, Gene’s Salad and Philly (special).

We’ll be back - for date night and with our kiddos. We had more that we wanted to try than our stomachs would allow for.

“First let me start off by saying whoever the pit master and the cook at your establishment has truly been touched by hand of God himself! You must have big mama, aunt ruby, aunt Myrtle, and all the members of the church motherboard, in that kitchen cooking! I'm talking about the mother board from the " Hold my mule, standing on The Rock of jericho, Apostolic, christian missionary., won't he do it, blessed and highly flavored, the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, pentacostal, holliness church of Josea L Williams drive! I was at my place of employment and could not leave today for lunch. So to my surprise one of my tenants visited your restaurant today for lunch and she was nice enough to bring something back for me. She brought me back some beef ribs, collared greens , and Mac and cheese. From the first bite down to the very last everything was spectacular.
There are quite a few barbecue spots in the city of Atlanta that are good. But Georgia Boy Bbq cannot be touched! You can taste the time that was spent preparing each and every dish.
You can tell that the restaurant owner and his staff care about the product that is being sold. Thank you for being excellent at what you do and most definitely, I have found my new barbecue spot. The portions are a wonderful size. I couldn't even eat the entire plate myself. I had to put the rest up for later. Thank you so much to Ms. King for bringing me lunch./dinner today and thank you Georgia Boy BBQ for being a cut above the rest. okay i have typed enough lol. .... See you guys next week“

The food is fresh, they smoke all their meat daily and they use locally sourced produce. They have a full bar. We shared the OG Salmon Chips - house smoked salmon, chipotle cream cheese, red onion & capers on house made potato chips (piucured) they are a little pricey at $16 for 5 servings but are piled high with fresh salmon so we weren't disappointed (they were great). We also had a Garden Chopped Bowl - (thick cut) house bacon, hard boiled egg, corn, red onion, tomato, avocado, bleu cheese and added Pulled Pork (pictured). Very good, highly recommend!“

“My husband and I love to find a good Brisket sliced bbq. While on the job my husband had lunch here and came home (an hour away) bragging about how good it was. Naturally, I’ve got to try it…..it is soooo good! I highly recommend it and will be back. Very welcoming and friendly. Our server was excellent and recommended the Alabama White sauce, I haven’t had any this good since I first tried it and fell in love with it. This place is a must try if you’re in the area. “A little out of place as it is located closer to the center of the grocery store as opposed to where the other food court places. Overall very tasty and for the bbq pork over rice, probably the cheapest price option compared to others in the plaza. Would come back for the bbq pork, for the other meats over rice I may lean towards other places as the prices then becomes similar and then the taste is slightly better.“

“I stopped by to check out the food and tried the Brisket. Needless to say it was AWESOME and I went back a coouple of times more within a week and a half. The guys were personable and made sure I had everything I needed and wanted.

I ordered the Combo 1. I got to try their pulled pork, sliced brisket, pulled chicken, fried okra, and Mac. The pulled pork is very tender with flavor. The sliced brisket has the most flavor but it is pretty tough. The chicken has decent flavor but better texture. The fried okra was extremely good. I would come here just for that. The Mac is decent. I like their assortment of BBQ sauces. I mix the sweet with the heat.“

“Some a y’all may remember that I lived in Hong Kong for 2 years, and this past Thanksgiving, I decided what I wanted a smoked Duck (especially since the price of an 8-10 lb Heritage turkey was about $150)!😡😡

We heard about HK BBQ from a colleague, and after checking around on cost, this one was THE most reasonable. Whole roasted Duck ($31.99) Half Duck ($16.89) if you’re just curious and want to try. Ducks hang in the window so you can pick out the one you want.

So, a couple things: You can buy the duck, but they don’t sell the “pancakes”. I asked.
The owner, who was very nice told me, “That’s how they do it in Hong Kong, we don’t sell it that way here.” I thought that was curious.. u kno.. since you named your business HK BBQ🙄🤷🏼‍♀️😂

The duck was excellent (even though we didn’t have the pancakes)!
I want to take a moment to mention the facility that the cafe is located in: as you approach the restaurant/cafe there’s a beautiful sitting area that brings the outside in (as you’d expect in Asia). It’s very serene and a nice enclave to have lunch if you have time to stop.

HK BBQ is located in a food court. There are a few other cafes in the court, but from what I saw, they didn’t seem as popular, as HK BBQ were the only ones with a line.

The last thing I’ll say is that their menu is QUITE extensive! It’s two sided, separated by a black and white side. If you dig Chinese food, you’ll have a ball going through this menu!“
