“It’s rare that I write reviews, but our experience at Borgo absolutely deserves one — and for context, my wife and I are truly food obsessed. We moved here from Austin, TX and northern New Jersey, both places where excellent Italian food is easy to find. In the three years we’ve lived here, we’ve tried at least 15 restaurants in the area, and every single one has been forgettable, I’ll leave it at that. Borgo changed that instantly. From the moment we walked in, I noticed something unusual: the dining room was full, yet the atmosphere was calm, lively but not loud. When we sat down, we found ourselves next to three older couples speaking Italian. That alone told me we might finally be in the right place. A lot of restaurants claim to be “family owned,” but at Borgo, it’s the real thing. The entire family is from Italy. The owner came over to welcome us personally and took our order with genuine warmth. His wife is the chef. His sister was checking on tables and making sure everything ran smoothly. The whole experience felt like stepping into a small trattoria in a small Italian town and I don’t say that lightly. The food was exceptional. We started with the burrata with prosciutto and an arugula salad. Both were exquisite. The burrata tasted incredibly fresh and was served at the perfect temperature I don’t know if it’s homemade, but it certainly tasted like it. The arugula was vibrant and peppery, as if it had just been picked, and the dressing was beautifully balanced. For mains, we had the trout, the linguine with mushrooms, and the eggplant parm. Every dish was outstanding, but the eggplant parm stopped me in my tracks — I literally closed my eyes after the first bite. It was that good. Dessert was tiramisu and the limoncello cheesecake, and both were flawless. Light, flavorful, and not overly sweet, exactly how they should be. And the service? Flawless. Warm, attentive, personal, the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you’re eating in someone’s home rather than a restaurant. It took us 45 minutes to drive to Borgo and we cannot wait to go back. After three years of searching, we finally found a place that feels like the real deal. Simply put, our experience was exceptional.“

“The other day I placed an order through DoorDash for some beef tips w/rice, and 2 sides but my order was wrong and DoorDash refused to give me my money back. I called Big Daddy's Soul Food to let them know and Big Daddy himself made sure that I got my food fresh and hot as he had one of his employees deliver it to me. Egg benidict was a hard boiled egg, grits were so thick and way to much pepper. Eggs over easy were toast and burned. Service was Marginal. Omelet was also over done. We sat at the grill and waited for another couple to join us. I was getting a little annoyed because I was hungry, but I understood how that works. I enjoyed spring rolls along with soup and salad. Once the hibachi grill master was ready—the show started! It was great and he was very funny and entertaining. A customer from his previous table came over before they left and tipped him $100! That’s how good he was. The food was delicious and we received very generous portions. I will definitely return to this establishment. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for some delicious hibachi.“

“Made a reservation with Open Table for 6pm. Seated right away and ordered by 6:15pm. Caprese salad appetizer arrived promptly. Entrees arrived 7:10pm. Mahi Mahi was very tasty. The Skillet Extravaganza was fantastic. We split it between two people as it was a lot of excellent food. Only knock was the lemon rice was very lemony. The painfully slow service was almost enough to ruin the entire meal.“

I have to say these are some of the best crab legs I've ever had. I have to say, the jalapeño poppers are very good also. They taste like they're made with pickled jalapeños. It's well worth the 1+hr drive from Thomaston to Peachtree City. If you've never eaten here, you're missing out. They've got the bar side and the family friendly side. We're now eating here twice per month.“
