First most people are going to complain about the food prices, but this is not a burger business. The food is good so the price is fair. Let me move the service. I had the pleasure of being taken care of by Jayla absolutely phenomenal customer service. Her attitude attentiveness and genuine care manner shows she do her job because it’s a representative of her. I would recommend you stopping by and checking this place out honestly everyone treats you well here I was having a bad day and Jayla had me walk away with great food. Thank you Jayla!!!“

“If you’re looking for a breakfast spot that feels like home with food that tastes like heaven, Yummies Cafe in Riverdale, GA, is it! My family and I recently visited for breakfast, and we were blown away by the quality and care that went into every bite. The pancakes were the perfect mix of fluffy and crispy, with golden edges that added the ideal crunch. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the bacon? It was everything bacon should be… crispy, smoky, and satisfying. The fried chicken was a standout, perfectly seasoned and fried to a golden, juicy crisp. But the real star of the meal? The cinnamon honey biscuits!!! These were hands down the best biscuits we’ve ever had… soft, buttery, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth heavenly! “This is the best bar on the southside. Manny is the best bartender in my opinion. He always acknowledges you when you come in and makes sure you have a good time. Nick and a few other staff also are good about stepping in to help out it make's your experience great. This bar gives you that home away from home vibe most of us in our 30s look for.“

“Barrio ATL is an entire VIBEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I ended up here on a Thursday. I was in the Cascade area and in the mood for tacos. After a search on Yelp Barrio ATL popped up and was where we headed for the night. As a heads up, Barrio ATL sits in the corner of the strip plaza. As such, the parking can be a bit tight so be sure to choose a space accordingly. Upon walking in, the ambiance puts you in the mindset of a trendy hookah lounge. Wall seating, chairs, and tables are to the left, and a VIP area style is to the right. The DJ is directly to the left of the VIP area and the bar area is to the left of the DJ. The building is medium-sized and build rectangular so there is ample length as compared to the width. There was no one at the Hostess booth when I walked in, however, the young lady got up from one of the tables in the back, greeted me, and quickly took us to our table. Once seated, the waitress assigned to our table came over and was super nice and welcoming. She introduced herself as Shay and went over the specials for the night. As the ambiance is more than just a casual bar, Shay’s service was superior. Her personality shined and she enhanced the overall experience of the night. Thank you, Shay! Based on the specials for the night I decided to go with the 3 Chicken Birriia Tacos for $9 (this was a great deal as they are usually $20) and a side of fries. As they didn’t have Sweet Tea on the menu I ordered a bottle of water. Shout out to Barrio ATL for serving Fiji. Ha. Babeeeeeeeeee… Here me when I tell you… I don’t know what kind of potatoes these fries were made with but they were the BOMBBBBBBBB. They were thick, perfectly fried, golden to perfection, and well seasoned. For the record, I would go back for the fries alone. LoL! The birria tacos were good as well. As this was my first time having them I don’t have anything to compare them to, however, I enjoyed the experience. The crunchiness of the taco shell with the well-seasoned chicken. The birria consomé was well seasoned and definitely enhanced the flavor of the taco, as such, for my first birria experience I enjoyed it. Furthermore, if the chicken was this good, I can’t wait to try the beef. Overall Barrio ATL is def one to add to the checklist when you are looking for a vibe. The DJ was on point, the ambiance was hittin like it needed to be, and the overall flow of the environment was ideal for a kick it/unwind/grab a drink type of vibe.“

A friend and some of his friends had visited this business one two occasions and kept talking about how good the food was. I visited this business on 8/6/25 because I was hungry for some vegetables and didn’t want to cook. I purchased two meals…one was a vegetable plate and one plate had vegetables and pork neck bones. The soul food was the best experience I’ve had in some time. The cabbage, macaroni and cheese and lima beans were great. They weren’t salty nor did they have sugar in them. ALL THEY HAD WAS FLAVOR. The broth on the neck bones was not dark and they weren’t salty but were FULL of flavor. The cornbread was NOT sweet and was delicious. And to add to everything else, the portions were great. The food wasn’t good because I was hungry…it was good because they can cook and know how to season the food for flavor. You won’t be disappointed.“

“I am from out of town but,come down here 4-5 times a year and this is without a doubt the best food I have had in Atlanta. Got the BBQ shrimp pasta and cajun egg rolls bit were very flavorful and tasted fresh. Egg rolls were my absolute favorite but both were great!!!! If you like flavor give them a try!!!“

“Annie Laura’s Kitchen – A Beloved Staple with Room to Grow

For over 15 years, Annie Laura’s Kitchen has been a consistent go-to for me, and with good reason—the food is, more often than not, exceptional and absolutely finger-licking good. Their Southern comfort dishes carry a depth of flavor that keeps me coming back time and again.

Out of well over a hundred visits, I can recall only three occasions where the food fell short: twice, the turkey wings arrived undercooked, with meat still visibly red and inedible; once, the macaroni and cheese carried the unmistakable tang of spoiled milk. Those rare missteps, however, have never been enough to deter me from returning. In my book, 3 off-days out of 100 is a pretty remarkable track record.

The staff, particularly the young men and women taking orders outside, deserve special mention. Whether in the blazing summer heat or under a drizzle of rain, their attitudes remain warm, professional, and welcoming—a standard of service that deserves recognition.

Another point in Annie Laura’s favor is its pricing. Whether you’re dining solo or feeding a family of six, the portions are generous, and the value is undeniable.

That said, my overall rating of 4 stars reflects one lingering issue: the atmosphere. Both the exterior and interior are in dire need of an upgrade to match the quality of the food. The interior has long been closed for dine-in service, and reopening it could not only enhance the dining experience but also help alleviate the notoriously long drive-thru wait times—especially on Sundays.

“I have ordered from her several times. We have tried several things, so here you go: Wings (honey hot are the bomb), beef hot dogs and fries are good. Turkey wings were good but could've been more tender. Cabbage and Mac and cheese (nah, not good) Philly Cheese Steak ( salty as hell) Do Not Try if you have Diabetes. Definitely a waste of money. Cornbread Dressing tasted more like cornbread (says my husband) Her customer service is GREAT!!! She's friendly and understanding. We will definitely order again. We'll just order what we know is good.“

“Neighborhood church-run eatery. Soul food at it's best. Absolutely 💯 percent worth the drive out to S.W. Atlanta (they also have an in town location). Line service like a Picadilly. Muslim healthy fare like veggie plate is so filling. Have had that before.. Nonetheless less this time we just had to get the fried catfish. The portions are sizeable and the line servers are so nice and friendly. It's like your Grandma fixin' your plate at the stove. They do have a small outdoor patio too.“
