“They do have "live music" between the main dinning room and bar...right in the middle and it is way too loud. Sorry, I like live music but when it is overbearing it kills the atmosphere. Our service was compromised by the noise because our poor server just couldn't hear us.“

“The fish and chips here was the second best meal my wife had on our whole trip to big island, and it lost to a much, much, much more expensive luau. You must eat here if you come to Hilo.
I’ve had fish and chips in London and around the US. I’m no food critic but I’ve had enough to have opinions. The mahi mahi fish and chips with the garlic dill sauce is the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. My wife, conversely, almost never goes for fish and chips, and she loved the ono.

“A nice surprise with singing and guitar music while we ate and had a drink to start our vacation. We ordered lechon and 2 pina coladas. Service was nice and efficient, the view is lovely. Day 2 we ordered Caesar salad and clams. The bread dipped in garlic sauce was nice. The brownie with ice cream dessert was divine. Day 3 we ordered chicken wings, espresso martini and poke during Happy Hour. The chicken was crispy and flavorful. Poke was good, we ordered a side of rice. Loco moco and coffee for breakfast. Plenty of meat variety, thin beef patty, rice a little undercooked. For most evening meals, it took 30-40 minutes after ordering to get food, at breakfast about 15 minutes.“

“We really enjoyed the local Hawaiian beer, exceptional cocktail and fresh sushi grade fish apps we ordered. A little pricey but the quality is definitely there. The service was a little slow but I think they were understaffed for how busy the place was and they were very friendly and helpful and definitely doing their best. Next time I return to the big island I'll definitely go there and have already recommended to other friends as a great date night.“
