Dagon Reviews
Went twice in my first week in Honolulu! I love Burmese food; had it a lot in SF! This was superb. The tea leaf salad is an umami flavor bomb and the staff is incredible - we had one person who preferred vegetarian and the entire staff was super accommodating!
First time trying Burmese food and ended up coming back a second time before catching our flight home! GET THE TEA SALAD! Unique, flavorful and very filling. We also loved the coconut curry with lamb. Lamb was so tender and we preferred it over beef. Hospitality/service was also wonderful. Both times we came right as they opened and both times they quickly filled up the place!
Must have changed owner or chef, traditional Burmese beef/lamb curry & Tea Leaf Salad have become spicy
unlike our last several visits over the years. I far cry from the inimitable and world famous 999 Noodle in Yangon.

Dagon is a restaurant that offers delicious Burmese cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. The menu includes unique dishes like Dagon tea salad, Shan noodles, and mango curry. The food is flavorful, with options like spicy lamb and coconut rice impressing even hard-to-please diners. The portion sizes are generous, with enough leftovers for another meal. The friendly service adds to the experience. While a few minor issues were noted, the overall dining experience was enjoyable. Visitors should take advantage of the BYOB policy when dining at Dagon. Despite not being the most child-friendly establishment, the quality of the food makes it worth a visit for anyone looking to try something new. The restaurant has a comfortable and lively atmosphere, with Burmese decorations around the room. There are vegan options available, and the server is accommodating, allowing guests to store their bottles in the fridge. The cost of the dishes ranges from $15 to $26, and the location is convenient, with other restaurants nearby.
