Based on the reviews, Frog House Restaurant is a humble hole-in-the-wall that serves authentic Korean food. The food portions are sharable size, so customers get plenty to eat, along with plenty of side dishes. A Korean born and raised reviewer assures this is the most authentic Korean restaurant in Hawaii, with strong spices, lots of salted banchans, namul, and various soup. Favorites include the Short-Rib Soup, Gamjatang (pork & potato) soup, Octopus and Noodle stir fried, and the seafood scallion pancake, which was crispy with good chew. The angler fish, pork backbone soup, and grilled pork belly are also recommended. The service is friendly and efficient, and the food comes quickly. Lunch and happy hour specials before 7 PM are a great deal. The restaurant entrance is very confusing, as it leads to an office space or kitchen, but the food makes up for the atmosphere. Parking is very limited in the back. The seating area can hold about six groups, with a separate back room and a seating area in the back. The only downside noted is the bathroom was not very clean. Overall, it is highly recommended for authentic Korean food.
