We stopped at this location on a food tour we were on. Definitely recommend coming to the food truck over the brick & mortar location. The malasadas are just as tasty and the line is almost non existent. We did visit the brick & mortar location a few days after stopping here and had to wait 10+ minutes. It's all made fresh to order and they are all delicious, even the non-filled ones.Parking: The truck is located near a strip mall with plenty of parking available.
Imagine taking a fluffy pillow, deep frying it, and coating it with sugar - that’s basically a malasada from Leonard’s. Calling it a “Portuguese donut” is really an injustice to these legendary pastries that justifiably make appearances in magazines, guidebooks, and TV shows.The main bakery is located just northeast of Waikiki in a rather bleak part of Kapahulu, and if you go there after 9 AM, you will most likely be waiting in line along with hordes of tourists. You can buy without lining up compared to the Kapahulu store!There is a bench table next to the truck so you can eat there, but please don't eat in the car ⚠️ You will be covered in sugar.
