Nimitz Bar-Bq House Reviews
Yummo. Visiting Hawaii for the 4th time and we wanted local food. Food was better than some restaurants we went to. Looked like your average little food shop but the food was def not average. The cuzzy bro took us here as soon as we got off the plane. To whoever is a tourist like us, I would encourage you to stay out of Waikiki's over priced and under tasted food and go to places like these, dis real food.
Not going to lie, I wasn't expecting much, but this place was highly recommended by the people over at the Enterprise... And for good reason. The food here is amazing I tried the short ribs and came back for more. It's a Mom & Pop- hole in the wall place, so please come correct. Be patient and scan the menu at the counter or refer to the pictures on the wall... Yes one of those places... There's a language barrier and the owner gives off Dad/ GrandDad vibes if I had Korean parental...read full review

Nimitz Bar-Bq House is a beloved Korean BBQ restaurant that has been a local favorite for over a decade. It offers a variety of dishes, including their signature butterfish plate, kalbi plate, and Kim chee jiggae soup. The restaurant is known for its cozy atmosphere, with a few tables inside and ample parking. The Bi Bim Kook Soo, cold noodles with pork and veggies in a spicy sauce, is a popular choice and is known for its perfect balance of spicy and meaty flavors.
Customers have noted that the restaurant might not have the best service, but it does have great and authentic Korean food. The owner, who takes orders, can sometimes sound harsh due to a language barrier, but his demeanor is more comforting when speaking Korean. The food is served in large portions and can be on the pricier side, but the amount definitely makes up for it.
The Meat Jun, a Korean dish, is a customer favorite and is described as "the best" and "broke da mouth." Despite the unassuming appearance, the restaurant offers high-quality and reasonably priced Korean cuisine.
