“Excellent food and service. My wife and I were there for the Navy’s 248th Birthday Meal. The beef, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, corn, vegetables, and salad were delicious. Good crab legs though a bit salty. Very clean and pleasant atmosphere.“

“Super solid lunch stop. Was on base w fellow contractors for a project and ended up eating here and sharing in good conversations. I was impressed by the politeness of other customers - two separate white men yielded to me and offered for me go ahead of them in the order line :o

I got the Italian chicken panini and it was just what I needed (filling and good source of protein).

I tried to go to KCC Market, but there were so many people that I couldn't find anything to eat, so I came as an alternative and it was a really good choice.
Ordered the breakfast plate and pineapple juice, which are sold until 10 o'clock.
The plate tasted okay, but the pineapple juice was delicious.
It was so nice to sit and eat in a cool place after trekking.
The Japanese owner is also friendly.
It was near Waikiki, so I probably went there often to drink juice.“

We had a matcha soft serve on a cone this visit.
Ube and peach were the seasonal flavors available, though almost everyone ordered matcha.

Original, 2023:
Amazingly creamy, lightly bitter matcha soft serve!
We ordered a matcha shave ice with matcha soft serve to share between 2 adults.
Plenty of dessert to go around.

Ice was a tad chunky and crunchy, not super fine.
3 mochi balls and 1 chestnut
A scoop of sweetened red beans
The soft serve was swirled and more matcha powder was sprinkled on top

This matcha shave ice is winning against my previous favorite at Uncle Clay's HOPA.

First week of March 2023: special flavors are Ube and
Sakura (Cherry Blossoms), which can be swirled together.
I would like to try the Ube next time. Sakura sounds pretty good, but Matcha will likely be the favored choice each time.

Staff were extremely polite and pleasant.
Shop doesn't accept cash, you must use a credit card or your phone (payment via Square).

“I would give 10 stars if possible. upon entering insomnia we were greeted by the two people working with so much enthusiasm & kindness that I would come back just to be greeted by them alone (im assuming they’re the owners but not entirely sure). they suggested an iced Vietnamese coffee if we needed a lot of caffeine, we agreed & the coffee was so strong & so tasty! my daughter ordered a strawberry smoothie & it was great as well. while we enjoyed our drinks I listened to them greet a few other customers who came in, & it made my heart so full. the people here are incredibly caring & so kind. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area!“

“I have visited the Haleiwa location multiple times and it just hits the spot for unique gelato flavors! I also highly recommend any of the crepes ... and of course, the Ube Mochi waffle!!! “I had lunch with a friend and her daughter in this cute little cafe in the design center.

The food is fresh, clean, and came in perfect portions. My 2 year old daughter loved the salmon and fresh veggies it as well as the corn soup with crab. But what we loved most about this place was the desert selection!!!

Oh how my daughter’s eyes sparkled when she saw the showcase of over 20+ varieties of mini cakes!!
Ofcourse, she chose the pink colored cake which to my surprise was azuki bean cream. I chose a chocolate shell dome with marron (chestnut) and rum mouse filling. Both rare flavors and delicious!! The deserts are great because they are not overly sweetened and cater to a foreign tongue!! Unfortunately deserts were devoured so I didn’t get a photo.

My daughter now dreams about going back and having desert. We will be back soon! .

Kid-friendliness: Highchairs available, this food is great for kids who can eat variety of food. I just shared my plate with my daughter.

The combos are a nice deal - I like getting a soup + salad or soup + sandwich. They also cater my office's meetings quite often; they can cater both breakfast (pastries and breakfast sandwiches, plus coffee) and lunch (mostly sandwiches for us). Some of my coworkers have said some of their catered sandwiches a bit boring after a while, so you may consider specifically requesting the types of sandwiches you prefer.“

“Personally I think the coffee here is a little overpriced, I’ve been to other coffee shops that have similar drinks for a smaller price tag. I paid more than $6 for a small ‘Audrey hepburn’ iced coffee with no upgrades just got the normal milk. I got the coffee half sweet and it was still too sweet for my liking (but that is just personal preference). I assume the high price tag for the coffee has to be because of high rent prices ??‍♀️ My husband got a double shot coffee and we also got one cold caramel apple pastry since all of the other pastries were sold out. Should have asked the price of the pastry because it had to be at least $5/$6 because our total was just under $16. The caramel apple pastry was cold and too sweet for both me and my husband. While the workers were nice, I’m not sure we’d return due to the lack of parking available. You have to find street parking since it is located in a residential area and there is no dedicated parking lot for the coffee shop. If you’re lucky there’s maybe two spots right in front of the coffee shop on the curb but after that there’s a “no parking anytime” sign.

Parking: Difficult to find parking since there is no dedicated lot. It seems a lot of residents have their cars parked on the side street as well so you have to walk a decent amount to get back to the coffee shop.“
