Legendary (Don the Beachcomber is tiki bar royalty) must-stop while in Kona. Great views, great people, and great tropical tiki cocktails (pro tip: GET THE MAI TAI FLIGHT) and, if you are lucky, awesome Don the Beachcomber tiki mugs (love my lavender beauty).
They don’t answer their phones when trying to place an order; either through their resort phone number or their outside phone number… very frustrating.
When dining in, they erroneously wrote that we sat at the bar and left us waiting for a table as the very last of the night.
Food was good and decent value compared to nearby ocean front options.
But I’d hit the place next door (Huggos) if you have an option.

Despite occasional wait times and parking challenges, the overall experience, history, and flavors make Don the Beachcomber a unique dining destination worth returning to. Don’t miss the nachos, tuna sashimi, or the classic 1947 Mai Tai for an authentic taste. The attentive staff, including Lacy and Lucy, ensures a memorable dining experience.
