Kona Canoe Club is a waterfront restaurant known for its outstanding view and friendly service. The menu features tasty options like katsu style fried calamari, pork sandwich, and chicken salad served in a papaya with toasted coconut. Visitors can enjoy plentiful vegetarian options, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch or relaxing happy hour by the ocean. The restaurant is also praised for its excellent service and beautiful views of the water and sunshine. Customers have enjoyed dishes such as grilled mahi mahi, macadamia nut ice cream, and smoked chicken nachos. The calamari is especially recommended as one of the best dishes. While prices are high, as is common in Hawaii, the overall experience is highly enjoyable, with the peaceful "island time" atmosphere adding to the charm. Recent reviews highlight the restaurant as a great place to have a drink with beautiful views, with the calamari and shrimp bucket being popular choices. The clam chowder received high praise for being possibly the best ever, especially for those seeking one without bacon. The friendly staff and the open-air setting with views of the bay contribute to a welcoming atmosphere. Visitors also appreciate the gentle, treat-loving cat named Gary, who sometimes visits. Overall, Kona Canoe Club offers a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience with delicious food, friendly service, and stunning oceanfront scenery.
