“What an awesome tour we took. You get to see every part of the development stages of these abalone. They also have other projects that are going on as well so you get to see their seaweed and learn about the type that they grow. The tour is complete with a taste of some sea grapes and abalone prepared 2 different ways (I love them over the grill wrapped in foil). We opted for the BBQ addition. 100% will do it again. Touring with 6 children, the outdoors were a perfect place to let them play while the BBQ is going. The menu was superb. We were greeted by Minoʻaka, who gave us the low down of the locally sourced course (surf & turf) and prepared our tent and BBQ grill. By the time we finished the tour, the propane BBQ was heated and ready to go saving us wait time. 100% recommend the tour as the guide is very knowledgeable about the farm, missed her name as were late to join the tour. 100% recommend paying extra for the BBQ (you donʻt have to eat the abalone if you donʻt like it but the steak and lobster is pretty tasty).“
“First time trying real poke! Not a big fan of anything raw but decided since I'm in Hawaii, I need to try poke. This place was pretty straightforward with its options and had great ones. I went with a poke bowl with rice, shrimp, and dynamite (not really sure all it had) but nonetheless it had a great flavor.“
“Happened across this place looking for a sunset dinner to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The food & service were incredible and we had the perfect table on the patio to watch the sunset. We tried the kahlua pork egg rolls, carpaccio of the day, dynamite fries, ahi tuna salad, macadamia hibachi chicken, poke bowl, poke tacos, ube oreo cheesecake. Everything was delicious, probably the best meal we’ve ever had on the 5 years we’ve been to Kona. Small venue so you should make a reservation or expect a wait. We parked in the paid lot across the street. Don’t miss this place!“
“This was a great place to eat. The food tasted amazing (definitely certified ono aka delicious) and very filling. The staff was friendly and the service was relatively quick. All of the ingredients were fresh. It was very close to the ocean and local shops, and there was a bathroom inside (which was an extra bonus if you've been out and about). I would definitely recommend it to others!“
“Found this market and his wonderful owner at the Waimea Market today. Owner is a wealth of knowledge in preparing each type of fish. He had several fish to choose from and happy to describe texture etc to us. A plus for us is that his poke is gluten free. He even gave us an education on different types of tamari. not all are gluten free as I had thought. Ceviche and poke really amazing for lunch and can’t wait to try the Maunchon fish for dinner!“
“Such an unassuming location but this place is more than meets the eye! This was my first time here, I went thinking I wanted a fish dish but decided to try their loco moco. They had 4 varieties and I had the one called Brahda’s Moco and damn it was good! I definitely will be back for that again but also looking forward to trying their other menu items as well!“
“My last night at the island was spent at Huggo’s with friends. The view was spectacular!!! The food you ask? Amazing!!! Our waitress was very attentive. We had a party of 7, and there was a stretch of time between everyone getting their meals, but they made up for it with free dessert! Definitely high on my list next time I return!“
“We love coming to the Fish Hopper. Affordable and yummy food with a great view. Every time we come to Kona, we love to stop in. Breakfast Benedict’s are our favorite. Don’t skip on their hearty dessert menu! Can’t beat the view, watching whales jump in the distance as we speak.“
“View, staff, drinks and the starter were fine. Main course however was disappointing. We had Pasta and beef Rips (too much fat in the meat) No compensation was offered. Personally we would only go here again for drinks. Tacos might be the best “
“Stopped by for a quick snack and had an oyster appy with pork laulau.I’m not from an oceanside place and the oysters blew me away. So juicy and plump and fresh. The laulau was cooked really tender, I don’t have any reference to comment on the flavour, but it was nice.Atmosphere was okay, felt a bit like a cantina.“
“Food was one of our best meals when we stayed at Hualalai! Fresh grilled kampachii w steamed Bok choy and sticky rice - my fav! The fish was fresh and seasoned and cooked perfect! My husband had a ahi Tina sashimi and our friends enjoyed crab rolls and farm to table fresh Big Island tomatoe salad. All our food came out quickly and practically gone in seconds. A very popular restaurant at the Hualalai FourSeasons. Sorry no photos this time but we will add when going there soon! Make sure to reserve your table in advance. Delaney, our server was great and we had her as our server before. Very attentive and especially attentive to our special diets. Enjoy this waterfront restaurant and I hope you love it as much as we did! Happy eating!“
“Our favorite thing to order here is their sushi. We have the aloha roll, and tropical storm roll. We also enjoy Teri chicken. It comes with a small salad and miso soup.Parking: The parking lot is within a shopping center. There's always open parking stalls.“
“Went here with a party of 4. The crab cakes were unreal and possibly the best I have ever had. I ordered the seafood trio which was tasty but the crab cakes are what I dream about.Service was great and Brad was very knowledgeable and happy to serve us. Highly recommended. The food is pricey but look at the pictures people posted. The plating and presentation is second to none. We left full and had a lovely evening. Thanks for the delicious meal.Parking: Limited parking available. If Jackie Rey's is within walking distance this may be the best option.“
“They always so packed & their hours of operation drives me crazy. May as well not even try to call in a order to go because 99% of the time they will enforce their “No Takeout” policy ????????? BUT THEIR FOOD IS SO DELICIOUS & reasonably priced ?? my favorite is their Steak sandwich !! Best I ever had - EVERY TIME ?Parking: Only fits about 5 vehicles“
“Sushi Cocoro and Udon Noodle is a small, intimate restaurant tucked away in an alley in Kailua Kona. We called on a whim hoping to grab dinner and were lucky enough to snag a table. The restaurant is quite tiny with limited seating, but the staff was incredibly accommodating. Based on a past recommendation, we brought our own wine and beer, only to find out upon arrival that was no longer allowed. But the owner graciously allowed us to enjoy our drinks with our meal anyway. That thoughtful hospitality really made our experience. With a compact menu, the options are simple but solid. We enjoyed fresh sushi rolls, udon noodles, and Japanese tapas plates. The food quality was good, though not the most creative sushi I've had. But the fish tasted fresh and the rolls were neatly constructed. The udon noodles in savory broth were excellent - perfect on a warm Hawaiian night. And we have to compliment the service, which was kind, prompt and attentive throughout our meal. While Sushi Cocoro may not offer the most elaborate sushi or expansive menu, it's a homey spot for tasty Japanese fare in Kona. The intimate setting and hospitable service make for a pleasant, enjoyable dinner. Just don't bring your own drinks - and be prepared for cozy quarters! A tasty local find.“
“Seafood was very fresh and live. They set up everything for the bbq. Also have eating tools, spices and sauces provided. Very convenience and clean. Staff onsite are friendly and nice. Help me order and prepare the food, and provide cooking tips. Very helpful. First taste abalones sweet and tender. Not chewy at all. Love it and will go back again.“
“They were delicious. The prices are very well suited for you get what you pay for but we were not disappointed by that at all. The atmosphere is wonderful perfect for a family night or a date night. The staff was very friendly even when you come in just before closing they make sure to accommodate whatever you need. Will definitely go again!“
“We totally love this place!!!! We come three times a week! The food is deeeliciius, service is phenomenal and reasonably priced!!!! Arlene is da best!!!!!Vegetarian options: Lots of veggies dishesDietary restrictions: All kinds of vegetarian optionsParking: Just get here early and you are setKid-friendliness: Kids are always welcome and have funWheelchair accessibility: I am disabled and have no problem negotiating“
“Everything at Kenichi Pacific was wonderful. The food was all perfectly cooked, service was outstanding, and our meals came out promptly. I had the Manapuas as appetizer, others ordered calamari and beef carpaccio which I did sample. All were delicious. My entree was the Ono. Again, it was perfect. My son had the seafood trio, which he loved. My grandchildren had California Rolls, Aspen rolls, the filet mignon, and buttered pasta for the youngest. All were devoured. I would highly recommend this restaurant for traditional Japanese dishes and seafood.“
“Perfectly located next to the ocean with crashing waves, good food and friendly staff! I enjoyed the Poke pie bowl (delicious) and my spouse ordered the trio sliders with spicy fries. The atmosphere alone encourages us to go back (there doesn't seem to be many restaurants ON the water) but we'll definitely be back for more great eats also.“
“We have literally made this place a must-stop since our honeymoon in 1995. Great local spot, not touristy, just good food and drinks. Open air seating on the marina to chill and get a burger or other 'basic' pub fare. Is the food great? Honestly probably no, but the service is also mid. But who cares, you're in Kona at a local bar having a beer in a frosted goblet the size of a volleyball!“
“The chow mein was perfectly seasoned, with just the right balance of ingredients, while the spring rolls were fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor.Despite the bustling atmosphere, the wait staff managed to be incredibly attentive and efficient. Their friendliness added a warm touch to the meal, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. A special mention goes to the young gentleman who served us; his cheerful demeanor and prompt service truly stood out. It’s one of those few times where I’ve left absolutely no leftovers behind, a testament to the quality of the meal. I would return to try other dishes.“
“We originally Googled to find this place, and we thought it was an oceanfront restaurant... although it's not Oceanfront it is a pleasant atmosphere and the food is actually surprisingly good for a good value. Probably the best tofu I've ever “
“Would have given them 5 stars had there not been a rude waiter ( not ours) who called me out for giving a very small piece of bread, off my sandwich bun, to a little bird under our table. I guess I figured that paying over $60 for two sandwiches and fries, I could decide to share a tiny piece of bread with the bird if i wanted to. Guess not. Will find another place to eat the rest of the week. Shame, we enjoyed the view and food.“
“You can't beat the view .....we missed sunset but still beautiful on the ocean. Food was good......we ordered the nachos as an app and they were so so big we were all pretty full when our entrees came. One thing that stood out for us was our server.......my husband had a headache, we asked where can we get ibuprofen.....she said hold on a minute and came back w 2 ibuprofen. She was so friendly and took care of our family. Sorry I don't remember her name......loved her.“
“Some of the best Poke on the island. Was recommended to us by a local and glad we stopped by! This is a takeout spot only but there but around the corner of the building they have 3 picnic tables with umbrellas and trash bins for you to eat there.Parking: Street Parking only“
