“Great menu and drink selections. The atmosphere is so relaxed and the ocean is just a few feet away. Samantha and Ryan are two of the best, and the rest of the crew are fantastic as well. You can sit outside or in, or bs with the bartenders. Love this place. 10 stars“

“On our last day of vacation on the Big Island, after checking out of our condo, we chose Umekes for lunch while wondering around killing some time before our flight out. Good choice, and wish we would have found it sooner. My wife and I both had the fresh catch fish sandwich, which was Mahi on this day, and was very good. We ate a lot of fish sandwiches over the 17 days we were there, and this was one of the better ones. The Mac salad side was also very good, as was the service. Nice place, with parking, inside or outside seating, and a full bar. I would recommend.“
“Bella made our time at the beach house incredibly special and is the reason I am writing this review –God smiled upon this resort the day she asked for an application. She was like a breath of fresh air; she was so fun, knowledgable about the menu, very attentive and outgoing. She even let my mom in on a few secret recipe tips for the gazpacho which completely made my mom's day!! If we could spend all afternoon there with her we could, we will hope to sit with her again on our next visit, mahalo Bella!!!“

“Great restaurant with extended hours. We went there around 10-11pm and it was still open. Great option near the airport and after long flights. I wish they had healthier options but it was a good stop with fresh food. Everything is fried though!“

“My wife and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary on the Big Island and wanted to experience the best the island had to offer. Ulu Ocean Grille did not disappoint! Here is a summary of our dinner: We thoroughly enjoyed the Ebi Tempura roll - (it was good enough that we have encouraged several family members to join us at Ulu this evening for sushi and dinner) For our entrées we had the Mahi Mahi and the Spicy Crab Noodles. Both were perfectly prepared, very flavorful, and the presentation was perfect. For dessert, we couldn't decide between the chocolate or vanilla (the flavor of the evening) soufflé, so we got one of each (you only celebrate 20 years once!). Again, perfectly prepared and presented and was thoroughly enjoyed. And I can't overstate how excellent the service was. The staff went out of their way to make the experience memorable. It was the best dining experience I have ever had and I don't expect to top it soon, unless they outdo themselves when we return this evening. Ulu & Four Seasons Resort - well done!“
“The drinks are great, love the art on the menus, but I will say the Conrad Mai Tai which is a specialty at this bar feels overrated to me. It is a bit too alcoholic. The Moana Mai Tai at the restaurant next door is much better.
They have sushi nights sometimes, and the sushi is a solid average in NYC. Would eat, but not go out of way to get.“

“Nice atmosphere, decent prices, beer prices are crazy, $8/bottle of domestic but I buy 12 pack of Kona brewing big wave brew at local store for $15. Fries were crisp and fresh, fish was frozen cod, expecting local fish for $19, but i was happy with the meal. I would and I will return again to this place.“

“This place was AMAZING. Hands down the best Chinese food I’ve had in a very long time. My husband went spearfishing that morning. We brought in our fish and they cooked it up for us salt & pepper style. We got some fried rice, pot stickers and green beans as well. The portions were HUGE. I was convinced we’d have leftovers but we just couldn’t stop eating. It was that good. I wish we found them earlier on our trip. We will be eating here every time we’re in Kona.“

“Had a great experience here last night. Came in for evening drinks, had mai thais and mojitos with ribs and fries. The drinks were delicious and tall glasses. The staff was really friendly and excellent. It wasn't super busy and the bartender made time to visit with us for a bit. The view and ambiance were exactly right. Not quiet but not too loud to talk and connect and have a date.“

“The poke is fabulous, the chili garlic ahi was divine! Although there was one fella there that gave smaller scoops than the ladies, so my only suggestion is everyone give the same size amount of scoops, which is on the plump size, since I am very glad to tip wonderfully for the delicious food and great customer service as well!“
