“Excellent Poke and sides. Staff is friendly and helpful. Shared a delightful haupia ube rice pudding for dessert. It's a small take-out counter service with no indoor seating. Right to the side of the building are very clean picnic tables with umbrellas and shade. A great place for lunch.“

“Previous to this I had poke one time and didn’t like it. I followed the advice of a fellow tourist who said I had to try Da Poke Shop and if I didn’t like that then I truly don’t like poke. Well, after my visit I can say I really like poke! Da Poke Shop was great! I had the bowl, and got a scoop of spicy garlic and shop special with a side of seaweed salad and white rice. It was awesome! I’ll be back the next time I’m in the area. Eat here, you won’t regret it!“

“We're on vacation from Louisiana on the big island. The rock star boil was our dinner the first night and was spectacular. Seafood was fresh l, cooked well, and the rock blend sauce was full of spice and garlic. It was so good we had to have it again our last night in Hawaii“

You cany beat the setting... right on the beach with amazing views of the pristine coast. The staff is attentive and not overbearing. The food is upscale but approachable, especially for lunch. Great comfort menu items made with the highest quality.

“My wife and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary on the Big Island and wanted to experience the best the island had to offer. Ulu Ocean Grille did not disappoint! Here is a summary of our dinner: We thoroughly enjoyed the Ebi Tempura roll - (it was good enough that we have encouraged several family members to join us at Ulu this evening for sushi and dinner) For our entrées we had the Mahi Mahi and the Spicy Crab Noodles. Both were perfectly prepared, very flavorful, and the presentation was perfect. For dessert, we couldn't decide between the chocolate or vanilla (the flavor of the evening) soufflé, so we got one of each (you only celebrate 20 years once!). Again, perfectly prepared and presented and was thoroughly enjoyed. And I can't overstate how excellent the service was. The staff went out of their way to make the experience memorable. It was the best dining experience I have ever had and I don't expect to top it soon, unless they outdo themselves when we return this evening. Ulu & Four Seasons Resort - well done!“

“The drinks are great, love the art on the menus, but I will say the Conrad Mai Tai which is a specialty at this bar feels overrated to me. It is a bit too alcoholic. The Moana Mai Tai at the restaurant next door is much better.

They have sushi nights sometimes, and the sushi is a solid average in NYC. Would eat, but not go out of way to get.“

“Nice atmosphere, decent prices, beer prices are crazy, $8/bottle of domestic but I buy 12 pack of Kona brewing big wave brew at local store for $15. Fries were crisp and fresh, fish was frozen cod, expecting local fish for $19, but i was happy with the meal. I would and I will return again to this place.“

“This place was AMAZING. Hands down the best Chinese food I’ve had in a very long time. My husband went spearfishing that morning. We brought in our fish and they cooked it up for us salt & pepper style. We got some fried rice, pot stickers and green beans as well. The portions were HUGE. I was convinced we’d have leftovers but we just couldn’t stop eating. It was that good. I wish we found them earlier on our trip. We will be eating here every time we’re in Kona.“

“Beautiful setting, delicious food, and such a great team. We enjoyed Voyagers so much that we came back twice during our trip!

On our first visit, I had the fish & chips, which were excellent. The fish was breaded with panko, giving it a perfect, light crunch. I’m now convinced all fish & chips should be prepared this way! I also loved the local influence of using opakapaka rather than the more traditional mahi-mahi. The fish had fantastic flavor and was cooked beautifully.

On our second visit, I went for the Cubano made with kalua pork, and everything about it worked. Great bread, tons of flavor, tender pork, and perfectly cooked fries. Everyone in our group was happy with their food both times.

The setting is another reason to come. Voyagers sits right at the edge of the bay, making it perfect for a daytime lunch or happy hour. In the evening, the torches are lit, and when we visited, there was wonderful live music that completely changed the atmosphere. It’s mostly outdoors with plenty of room to spread out, so you really get to enjoy being in Kona.

A special shoutout to Eric, who took such great care of us. He was incredibly accommodating, had a great attitude, and was genuinely fun to be around. We even ran into him again around town, which was a nice surprise! Our server a few nights later was equally awesome, although unfortunately I didn’t catch his name. We were a huge party there on Saturday night until close, and he did a terrific job patiently handling the group.

“I just found this place today. What a great location, high above the shopping center. The views go for miles. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp and a Raspberry Rita, which was so pretty, with the sugar rim. Friendly service & yummy food.“
