“Dined here 2 decades ago and food still stands out above the rest. Restaurant could use a makeover sooner than later. Service was OK - food came out at different times and at times slow. However nothing moves fast in the area when everyone is on Island Time. Meals were all great“

That plus a couple of cold beverages and a beautiful big island sunset made for a very pleasant evening in this hotel restaurant. 3/26 update - new menu meant no bbq ribs but we found the fish and chips and huli huli chicken to be excellent!“

“Totally awesome authentic burger place. My only regret was not ordering another burger. My sister had the Surf Burger and I had the Hi-Heat. On the drive back to our hotel, we just randomly kept saying what a great burger those were. Honestly surprised we didn’t turn around and go back for more.“

“The hau tree got a huge upgrade when Mauna Kea remodeled. The kitchen is much larger, almaing meals quicker. And they changed the dinner menu to have a Mexican focus. We love Mexican food and this is really well done. Sinaloa chicken and the Tijuana Caesar are two of our favorites. And the location, right on the beach, has always been impossible to beat.“
