Great sunset views, sitting right on the beach is hard to beat. Tacos and Nachos were both tasty, and service is great!
Okay, let's start with the view. I mean, wow. Kauna'oa Bay, up close and personal. We were warmly welcomed & because I had noted my friend's birthday in my Open Table reservation comments, she received a “happy birthday” greeting too. The evening “cantina menu” is upscale Mexican. We started with the guacamole (stirred table-side) with chips and an array of salsas. I had chicken enchiladas but I don't recall the 2nd entree. Both delicious. The service is generally good, although there can be long gaps where drinks aren’t refilled or plates aren’t cleared. The staff strives to provide great service, and while the food may feel somewhat uninspired at times, it still remains tasty, especially the catch of the day and the burger with jalapeño sauce. Portions are on the smaller side, and wine is served in plastic glasses, which is expected at a beach location, although some glasses have had a strange smell. Hau Tree is currently undergoing renovations, but this does not significantly impact the overall experience. The restaurant validates parking, allowing guests to enjoy the beach afterward or order takeout during their visit. The friendly staff enhances the experience with great recommendations, making it a memorable place for a relaxed meal while taking in the gorgeous sunset.
